  1. Yes, they are for sale here. I've seen them in tuk.com, for example. I really like my S3...any other phone would have been destroyed by now. At last count, I have dropped the s3 more than 10 times..just last night I fell asleep reading some article, woke up and heard a crash as the phone fell off the bed onto the tile floor. I wasn't worried...it had happened many times already. I reached down for the phone it was fine...sure it's got scratches, and the resale value is kaput, but not having to buy a new screen or motherboard more than makes up for that. Samsung S2 and S3 (I've dropped both) .. the phones for klutzes.
  2. hehe. I clicked on the second link first. Lots of cute ladies into curling, I see. Some great bodies there.

  4. Only the one's i have been scammed by ( Which is most of them , like most other people do ).......! Same here. I've never bought a used vehicle before. I also had a work permit when I bought new, so this is new to me. In this case, the seller is Thai..and will be going with me.
  5. I went to tuk.com today, and while I was having my omelette across the soi at La Petite Planète, I noticed a sign outside the tuk.com building (by the west side entrance). Remembering our esteemed BM, Gonzo, I went inside and inquired at the first shop on the right if they had Garmins. The sales clerk told me it was in the next shop (2nd on the right from the west side entrance). They have 5 models available..the basic is under 4000 baht. The other 4 have life time ESRI updates free, while the basic one does not. I'm sorry the focus was off so you cannot see the prices, but the one on the left is the basic model approx 4k baht, I think the next one is about 6k baht, the second 2 are about 8.5k baht, and the last one is 12k+ baht (lcd screen)..
  6. You know all the scams then, do you?
  7. Pierce Brosnan.Mrs. Doubtfire
  8. BTW, if you have a work permit, I was told you don't need the residency certificate...but I turned mine in already.
  9. Got it just before they closed today...photos and copies 120 baht..immigration fee 300 baht. What a scam.
  10. Jeez. You'd think the 90 day reporting requirement with current address would satisfy that need...but TIT. Thanks...off to Immigration.
  11. I just bought a 2nd hand motorbike, registered in Chonburi. I have the green book now. What do I need to transfer registration from the previous owner to me? The previous owner says I need something from Immigration...possibly a residence letter, though his English wasn't clear. I have a Thai 5 year license and retirement visa. Is there really any need for me to go to Immigration too?
  12. Reads like a book..indoors or outdoors. I switched to Kindle for reading a couple of years ago, and I've never regretted it. Load it up with your favorite authors, and just read continuously...no need to go searching for a book at the bookstore, library, or 2nd hand shop. They are very inexpensive (the original Kindle about $90 USD, the Kindle Paperwhite a little over $100 USD). Battery life is in weeks, not days or hours.
  13. When using Skype (and probably other voice apps) to call a US toll-free number, there is no charge. Skype works on my mobile phone, so I suppose I could make the call from there, though I haven't tried that yet. It certainly works (very well usually) with my computer.
  14. Yeah, it's hopelessly bad.
  15. Do they have an extensive English language section of current books?
  16. No, it's not a lending library. They sell you the books (at a discount from new), and when you return them, you get 50% credit towards your next purchase. It's not a bad deal, given their selection, unorganized as it might be.
  17. That's the whole point of the overlay they built over the existing internet. You ever use torrents? There are third parties, possibly hundreds of them, accessing your computer when you do.
  18. Did you get a Kindle or other ebook reader? That's what's stopped me from making my biweekly trip to Canterbury Tales.
  19. Canterbury Tales on Soi Chaiyapoon has a huge 2nd hand book library for English language readers
  20. single story detached condo's do exist and board newbies may not know that non Thais can't buy property in Thailand even though that is a violation of the reciprocal agreement Thailand signed with the US.Does it look like a single story detached condo to you?
  21. Oh, and the rooms are superb. Don't tell anyone please.
  22. Seems that they don't have to be Happy Group to get the 100 baht refund. Took a dancer from LD1 there recently, and she was openly handed 100 baht. I paid 450 BTW.
  23. I'd rather buy them and concentrate on something else.
  24. My problem, and apparently yours, is that I don't have any foreign accounts anymore. I think it would be great for someone vacationing outside their first world country.
  25. I may have to go there and ask where they got the noodles. I scoured Foodland for noodles yesterday and couldn't find any.
