If the volume is really loud (typical) it usually overloads the microphone on my phone and comes up "unknown". I use "SoundHound", BTW, a similar application...but many times when I try it, even with the standard mix of the song, it can't recognize it because of the distortion produced by the high volume.

Don't worry about it. It's likely not true in this case, and it doesn't matter to you one way or another anyway. It's not as if it costs you more even if it were true. You would do best to ignore any advice given by that poster. Trust me. He just makes stuff up. Best of luck with your move!

Speaking for myself, many flights from North America arrive at 2300 or so, and after exiting customs, it's not unusual for it to be 2330 or 2400. There are always taxis available to take you for about 1500 baht. You should be able to arrange for a taxi from the city of Bangkok to Pattaya fairly easily. I'd do it in advance, though, since flagging one down on the street in the city probably won't be successful at finding a driver to take you.

It's 750 baht right? So, 450 baht more than the incall price. That includes travel time, packing and unpacking her gear, and all that time she is not available in the shop to serve walk-in customers. I don't think that's an unreasonable additional price at all. I only asked to take a girl out of a massage place once, and they wanted a bit more than the cost of a massage..quite a bit more in fact. In short, I consider the 750 baht a reasonable price for an outcall.

That's typical in many parts of town...the cheapest you'll find is 199baht in some of the Soi Chaiyapoon places. What's it matter to you anyway?

I think you're assuming too much here. He doesn't say how much he has to spend on everything..in fact, I think he said he'd rather spend a little on a room and have more to spend elsewhere. For all we know, he might have 10K/day to spend but consider "decent" lodgings unimportant. I think we should stick to the topic of cheap lodgings rather than going into all that other stuff you mentioned until it becomes an issue. Now, to the OP, I believe I already said that your amounts are equivalent to, or just slightly lower than, any place I have spoken to bar girls about their rent. I can't recall any of them recently mentioning rent as low as 3000 baht, though I did recently discuss a place for 3200 baht. You're best off asking a BG or a moto-taxi driver, because most foreigners wouldn't stay in such accommodations. Good luck.

Gonzo, I think the comparison of rent vs own would be how many years would he have to rent at 20K/month to get an equivalent unit to what he has now. I think the breakeven point would be a lot longer in that case.
