  1. Baht buses virtually pass by the door going both ways along Soi Buckaew either to Walking st or Big C area. Many fine eating houses for all price ranges within 5 minutes walk.
  2. Whist I agree that 4000bht in this area is just stupid and I too see a very empty property for most of the time, however having seen this Hotel both inside and outside I have to admit it really is a 1st class abode and beats hands down a lot of your so called 4/5 star Hotels in the "Posh" w/s and surrounding areas. You say it's not the trend but didn't I read a post of yours recently that in fact forcasted a big increase in prices in this area very soon, and don't forget that this area is also increasing in popularity at an alarming rate, and no matter how many times you keep repeating yourself it is a FACT that all parts of Pattaya are very easily reached from there, and that is a fact also. You of course are entitled to your opinion of what you obviously deem to be the lower end of the Pattaya social structure as I am being 100% opposite to you however time alone will tell who is the more insightful, and up to now I still maintain with all the developement ongoing at this time that within a short 5 years my forecast will be proven correct.
  3. Not cheap either, far better and superior accomodation freely available, cannot really understand why any monger would even consider this type of rip off place!
  4. Just around the corner from "Lloydies" bar or approx 100metres beyond Soi diana inn/soi buckaou intersection,on the left going towards Central Rd.
  5. Nicon Court is really closer to 3rd I think and really is a dump,IMO this by NO means reflects the true picture of Soi Buckaou, more and more guesthouses, bars and eating places are in FACT opening weekly and not CLOSING as you said, however if you are in fact in position over there at the moment then I would really appreciate some further information about these so called iminent/constant closures,so that I can modify my Oct plans as by your posted facts there might indeed be a shortage of decent accomodation, and what there is might be priced out of the market for many of us.!!
  6. Hi Mavic Welcome to the board mate,we have often had discushions on Trance's PIA board (Dr Reality).Anything I can assist you with just PM me.Stevenson.
  7. Any joiner fee apply?Thanks
  8. Having just returned from another 4 week stay in this area,I have nothing but praise for the variety of quality well priced food, beer, shorts, accomodation and cheap b-f's plus max 1000 morning tip.Never had any of the Walking Street GoGo bar girls BULLSHIT about must go home after one pop and a stay of 2 hours if your lucky.this after paying highly inflated prices for these so called "Stunners" that suddenly turn into cold "Starfish" at the business end! Rents going up,beer prices going up? My how do you know this my friend have you suddenly developed physic powers to see the future,in any event for now IMO this is the go ahead area, good hotels springing up at bargain prices especially on a 4 week stay basis, something almost unheard off in your so called "Posh" W/S hotels, finally you would be surprised at the amount of fellow board members that I met who were both staying eating and drinking all over this area.By no stretch of the imagination would you refer to these guys as "Cheap Charlies",my guesthouse incidently was 50 metres down the rd from Sa-Teef's and was exeptional value for 11000 BAHT per month ALL-UP!I say each to his own and again IMO you can stuff W/S and Beach Rd in general where the sun don't shine.
  9. Have never really understood the importance some guys put on the fact of "Free" transport one way to Pattaya, this in fact is anything but free as you are locking yourself into a hotel (which imo is not great) for a 3 day period, when the bus fare is only 120 bht to Pattaya.Alternatively you can pay about 350/400 bht for this service or the other one from the "Nana". 27 hours till wheels up
  10. I believe MM is staying longtime there.
  11. Check PM's details sent.
  12. Can thoughly recommend the Cock and Bull stayed there for 1 month last Oct/Nov and again for 1 month commencing in just 8 days time!
  13. Rather defeats the object of them even having a website let alone a non existent booking "System".
  14. Emil I have booked Mr toom for my 25th April arrival after reading many glowing reports not only on this board. If you notice some reports from other members do indeed praise this service and many in fact point out that mr toom was not their driver but another polite Thai and in fact on one occasion the driver was a "Lady". i should be so lucky.
  15. Do a search I think you will find "Bazzap's" in depth report recommending this place.
  16. Or just seeking VALUE for money, instead of throwing it away on Walking St.
  17. Sorry not the case as this is the site I have been using from at all times.
  18. I had been trying for 4 weeks to make a booking there.Filled in their on line reservation form twice, followed up with 3 E-mails and still no response from these ignorant twats. Why they even bother to advertise defeats me,another response from a board member staying at their sister establishment stated that the office staff were at best described as being stupid and at worst non existent. Have given up and got accomodation elsewhere, pity really as I agree it does look pretty good value for money, especially their "Grande de luxe rooms.
  19. I have also booked him for 25th April, surely his price of 1200bht does not include beer? If so wow what a bargain.
  20. Hi Sa-teef I too am in that area from 26th April onwards for 4 weeks and made an enquiry to Jasmine regarding monthly stay in Superior room on 1st floor and was quoted 17,500 bht cannot remember whether this incl. elect/water. As you probably are aware you are only about 30 metres away from "Lloydies bar" as well an excellent cheap daytime hideaway! !6 days to go.
  21. Cumming from NZ in 2 weeks time and by shopping around managed to get direct flight with Thai $70 dollars CHEAPER than last October, well satisfied.
  22. Suggest that you open a new thread and don't attempt to jump on the back of a Thai poster who used his gumption and has consequently built up a seemingly excellent reputation.Just a friendly tip.
  23. Arriving Bangkok TG990 25th April, taxi booked with mr toom anybody want to share?Arrival time 2230.
  24. Firstly for the benefit of "Big_Dusa,and like minded people,no offence intended, but please do not reply with TiT!.Here is an account of my last 21 days of attempting to obtain accomodation at the "Soleil de Siam" hotel in the Soi Bukhaou area. After much deliberation and investigation of various accomodations I was impressed finally by their facilities and location above all.So having settled finally I filled out their required reservation form and booked a " de Luxe room"for a period of 1 month commencing April 25th.I supplied answers to all their not too inconsiderable questions and within 30 minutes they acknowledged reciept of same and advised me that they would get back to me within a "Short" period. Despite repeated requests to them over the last 2 weeks to confirm reservation they continued to ignore me. Then 1 hour ago I got so pissed off that I fired a final E-mail to them more or less saying that if I did not hear from them in 24 hours confirming my booking then forget it. Imagine my joy when within 15 minutes I recieved a reply, but alas my joy soon turned to disbelief as I read their stupid answer as follows. They stated that I should confirm my reservation between the hours of 9am-8pm any week day,IN PERSON,their office hours. They don't however state how this is possible for me sitting here in NZ (7000 miles away). If this is a sample of their service and intelligence then the mind boggles. If I want to stay there (as I still do) the only thing left for me to do is to book a room for the night elsewhere,as I arrive at 1am,and then see if they have a room available the next day.
