Everyone has their own opinion regarding Soi LKmetro and it's guesthouses, as it should be. One thing to remember though is many have ulterior motives for running it down without ever having been there. I have a lot of experience there and have stayed at 3 places over the years and regard it as full of excellent rooms at a very cheap price, especially now as the whole town is dead. I recall you stayed at BJ Lodge last trip, I like many others would never pay their prices that far away from the action but if peace and quiet is your forte then go for it. Sponio, The Jomtien Guesthouse is advertised on pattaya-addicts site in their accomodation section. It's called "Blue Lagoon" and is owned by a guy named "Kiwimike"!

Best 3 IMO are Liquid Lounge/Kilkenny/Rockhouse in no particular order.

Have to agree 8bht per unit is more often than not the Hotel/Guesthouse charge on a Monthly stay. and by the OP's own admission he left it on all night plus, plus the A/C in all likelihood was not regularly serviced and of an older type! ALWAYS check your meter regularly and avoid these nasty shocks!

If you do not ask these questions when staying on a monthly basis at a reduced rate then IMHO you are asking for trouble.ALWAYS ask Electric/Water rate, on booking in and only pay if completely satisfied! Most importantly of all, read the METER, upon arrival and at least every other day, if you fail to do this then there is only 1 person to blame and that is yourself! Unless you have never stayed at somewhere before, again it's best to book in only for a couple of days initially and sound them out before committing to a Monthly up front payment! Not altogether true! Emirates, to name just 1 has increased their bottom line profit this financial year by 500%, yes, 500% and expects double digit growth over the next 5 years! They have also increased their A380 order by 32 Aircraft, making them the largest purchaser (BIGD please note)! But have they offered reduced prices and fare deals, fuck no they have increased yet again! An excellent Airline to fly with IMO, but hell we certainly are paying a premium to the greedy bastards!
