  1. Yep, same advice here. The Residence Garden is hard to beat and soooooo BG friendly
  2. Paid 800b for a guest at the Siam Bayview. Not worth it. RG is the best and its freeeeeeee
  3. The water in the cloudy white bottles never taste as nice but are the cheapest. Dont know how pure they are.
  4. Kiss bars or Jamiesons Irish bar. Great for all day breakfasts
  5. Yeah I can never pack the toys in mycase in UK incase the mrs finds them. Too scared to take them hand luggage. Where can you buy them in Pattaya. It seems hard to beieve that in the country where you can buy almost anything, a six inch vibe cannot be bought.
  6. I just booked with westeast travel for 4 October departure 3 November return at a price of 436.00 They did however add 9.25 credit card fee
  7. Hi Naughtyoy. Have stayed at both on many occassions. The bottom line is it is a matter of personal choice, They both are special in their own way. The RG does have a bullt in suit which the TG's love. Can't fault either of them. The captains table restaurant at RG is bloody good, and the free breakfast at the Areca is good as well. Both places have two pools. IMHO the RG is better for playing as there are only a few families that go there, as opposed to Areca where you will find couples and families.
  8. On the occassions I go to Pattaya with my wife and family I always stay at the Dusit. The two pools are excellent, and yes, it is right on the beach. I found the staff to be very attentive and friendly but not intrusive as sometimes you experience at other hotels. It is very true that food and drink are very expensive in the bar and restaurants, but the answer is to eat out. The small bakery inside the enormous lobby is excellent for hughe rolls, biscuits and hand made chocolates, all very cheap. The dusit takes some beating and is an ideal spot to take the wife as it is a decent d
  9. Its great not to be in a hotel where the rooms, toilet, pool area is polluted by cig smell. Thats one of the reaons i keep going back to Areca. EXCELLENT!!!!
  10. Yeah, one lift to each wing. Always working.
  11. Just my way of an update, I stayed again at the RG last month. Nothing has changed. Its the same grrreat service. Enjoy.
  12. Too risky. Anything could happen to stop you going. Plenty of competition out there. Tell them to shove it.
  13. Have been their with my wife and daughter. It is an excellent choice for a FAMILY holiday hotel.
  14. Stayed last August. NOT girl friendly, infact treated them like shit. They had to surrender their ID card to security on the gate as opposed to reception, and a fee of 800b per night. BG not able to have breakfast. Only 1 BG per room. Wont be going back there.
  15. I stayed there in April 2005, had booked 14 nights. Checked out in the morning of day two after bringing back a guest and having to pay 800B. Not recommended unless a family holiday. Incidentally i had been givenadvice from this board not to book, and had chosen to ignore it. Big mistake
  16. Get there as quick as you can. Dont waste precious time, its false economy. Fly direct.
  17. I have just looked on their website and the discount for lounge pass has dropped to 50% or am I looking at the wrong page??????? What are the names of the lounges at Heathrow, I see that Thai International lounge is not shown on the list at egg.com. Can you only use the lounge of the airline that you are flying with? How much is the lounge pass at LHR and BKK anyway before you get the discount??
  18. I stayed for three nights last months at the Nana. No it isn't plush but I wouldn't describe it as a shit hole either. Its very old and tired but serves the pupose well for what most of us stay in the Nana area for. Bottom line is its cheap, clean, excellent location, and breakfast is edable. You could do a lot worse.
  19. Just thought I would repost this offer as wheels up on Wednesday. Anyone wanna share the private car pm me please
  20. Ben, it is walkable to the far end of Walking Street, takes about 15 mins, but usually I am in suh a rush to get to the action, I jump the bahtbus and am there in five.
  21. Ben. I asked this very question a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how to search the thread for the replies, but the general opinion was divided. I think the RG came out on top. It certainly does for me.
  22. Hi Golfer. Have been coming to Pattaya twice a year for the past six years. I have stayed in luxury hotels (Dusit, hard rock) and have also stayed in some dumps that have been dressed up on the web to look like palaces. The most saddest thing is that it was only last year that I stayed at the Residence Garden. I wish I had stayed there right from the start. I would have been happier and saved a fortune. Excellent value for money, excellent rooms, excellent staff, excellent guest policy, excellent food and drink. Can't fault the place. It really is not that far from the action as ot
  23. Ned, are you saying then that the standards rooms do not have a safe?
  24. Anyone wanna share a lift to Pattaya on 27 April. Arriving from LHR on Thai at 1505. My driver is picking me up at the terminal. Anyone want to split the ride?
