Economy with Etihad? Hmmm... Make sure you take extra food and drink with you because their onboard service is absolute shite. Nothing compared to what it was a few years back. Planes, IFE, ground staff and Abu Dhabi Airport are fine though. Seems Etihad are concentrating more on the buisness class side of things nowadays.

Me and my English girlfriend stayed there in October 2010. Nice rooms, very clean, nice pool, fairly well priced... BUT... Theiving maids or maid, we had hundreds of pounds worth of sterling/baht stolen from us. We left it in my rucksack which i had hid in the wardrobe under clothes, yes we should have used the reception safes but it was money i was going to give to my father(he lives in Thailand) later that day so we didnt bother using the safes. I also had a brand new boxed laptop in the rucksack too but thank god that wasnt stolen(probably harder to smuggle out of the room than a wad of notes!!!) By all means stay there but just be careful what you leave around your hotel room when you are not there(same same any hotel in Pattaya i guess) We even looked at the CCTV footage with the Manager which clearly showed one maid entering our room seconds after we had left the room, she was in and out in about 30 seconds and made up some bullshit story to the manager as to why she went into our room. Needless to say we wont be staying there again.

We never stay in hotels with no in room safes but im sure reception safes are fine. We don't agree with our valuables being in control of the hotel owners with reception safes (ok in room safes are i suppose in control of the hotel) but if anything goes missing from an in room safe at least you know the hotel owners are responsible. Reception safes on the other hand could be open to outside attacks!!!

My 0.25 baht worth. If you do decide to take the £1000 cash with you make sure the hotel you are staying in has an IN ROOM safe!!!

I think you'll find it hasn't. I have to say i think it is a good option to be able to +1 -1 posts. If you have a bad rating... deal with it, if you have a positive rating... give yourself a pat on the back. At the end of the day we are all still gonna post if its there or not so lets just get on with it and post post post.

Surely no reason to make you go somewhere to EAT is it??? Somewhere showing cheesy English comedy that you have seen repeated on English t.v over and over and over and over again. Now im DEFO staying away.

I have taken time to read through ALL the reviews for Sri Lankan on Skytrax and i think you have been a bit harsh on them Tom. They do not sound too bad for long haul.

No i have not and do not intend to as im not a big breakfast eater. Never have understood why people have to eat so much for breakfast. Sometimes just a coffee will do me ta.

Funny post. I dont see why anyone would want to cram all that food inside them in the intense heat over there whilst supporting a stinking hangover!!! Im quite happy to visit cool house on pattaya klang near tops and pay 50b for 2 egg, 1 bacon, toast, cup of tea or coffee and a glass of juice. At least i can move after ive eaten and not feel like ive just put on a stone lol Each to their own though i guess

It was the serving of chocolate popcorn in a bag for breakfast that did it for us!!! -
Uk-Bangkok....the Most And Least You've Ever Paid.......
farman replied to chatkeow's topic in Airline Discussion
The most i have paid is around £650 about 5 or 6 years ago with Emirates. The least i have paid is around £350 3 or 4 years ago and that was with Etihad. Both were in economy and i have to say that at the time i enjoyed the flight on the new fleet of planes that Etihad owned. We did fly with Etihad last year and we were less than impressed with them!!!
