  1. yeah its a cracking deal! ive talked myself out of buying it twice now! thing is im going on my own this time! so if i dont tell the missus im going business she wont know will she?!! plus as tom says its reallly hard to go back to "cattle class!" so i may just treat myself this time! plus you get to use the lounges (is it the london lounge in heathrow eva use?) so i may well book it on monday!
  2. right then! someone please talk me out of this deal! im going out in october for 3 weeks havent found any outstanding deals yet (best is £399 with ethihad )most ive ever paid was £520 on thai last christmas! id prefer direct and i usually fly thai the last 2 times i flew thai i went business class one way both times and to be honest i wasnt that impressed! so really the only problem i have with paying £888 is ive never paid that much b4! but the new seats look brilliant!so please talk me out of it! (or on second thoughts talk me into it!) sorry for prattling on! but ive got to convinc
  3. just try phoning the air-france office nearest to you they should be able to do it!
  4. ok cheers for that tom! im still undecided as to who to fly with! i guess ill have to wait a bit longer! i normally go with thai as im in royal orchid, but they are still expensive, so i will wait, im really tempted to go with the £888, eva special, as im going alone this time but im not too sure!
  5. ive been phoning around to try and get a flight for october time, ive been quoted prices for evergreen deluxe with eva? i thought that with the new plane there was only going to be two classes? economy and premium laurel class? im quite tempted to book evergreen deluxe and see if they up-grade me to premium laurel class?!!
  6. a friend of mine is renting a condo (quite big with air-con balcony shared swimming pool and a cafe) for 6,000 bath a month . its on pattaya klang road on the bus routes , if it sounds any good to you ill try and dig out the address or telephone number for you,
  7. there is normally some sort of "thai holiday!! going on ! butm i dont think anything major while you are there! and its definetly the right place to go to get over a divorce! i guarantee the first time you go wont be the last! as already said its hot! and off the peak season so everything is cheaper! so have a great trip!
  8. well it sounds like the "Royal River Hotel" to me, its 3 star i think, i stayed there a frw years ago and it is as you described it!
  9. well i cant recommend any hotels with these channels! but! imo it will be far better watching the games in a bar?!
  10. they have a website where you can book online, but the fare for £888 isnt published on their web-site yet! but you can just tell them the fare youre interested in and e-mail them! good luck!
  11. sure looks like a cracking deal to me! cant fault it! i also got the e-mail from west-east, i went onto the eva web-site to look at the interactive look of the new planes looks great! anybody know what lounges eva air use in heathrow and bangkok? i came back business class with thai airways in january and april v(using my mileage) must say i wasnt all that impressed with them! id have been dissapointed if id paid the full price! b but evas seats look brilliant! practically beds! may well book the special offer!
  12. ok cheers milwall! cheapest ive been quoted so far for thai is £515, i didnt pay that in december! and id rather go with thai airways as im in the mileage club! totally off topic! but have you ever drank in the "new inn" in soi kaotalo? (i only ask cos i met a milwall fan there last year!)
  13. hi millwall, im looking to go october time , (i usually go in jan and april) ive been phoning a few places up and it seems pretty expensive? like i said i never usually go october time, id have thought it would have been cheaper as its not exactly peak-season time! i guess ill give it a month or two b4 i book (even though every agent i phone says"its best to book now sir as the flights are getting fully booked so quickly"!) yeah ive not heard that one b4! if anybody normally goes october time when do you book your tickets up? and as a comparison if anybody went last october what prices di
  14. when you planning on going? i phoned a few places today and the best i could get (for october) and the best i could get was £495 with eva air im gonna wait i think!
  15. no! but i was looking at some fares for october and they looked cheap. only problem was it looks like it takes ages to get there and you arrive in bangkok at midnight i think? still ill keep looking at postings on this topic!
  16. well wombat! basically for 32,000 miles you can upgrade one way from aussie to bangkok (or vice versa!) all you have to do is 3 weeks b4 you fly out on thai airways, phone royal orchid plus (or go into their office!) tell them your royal orchid plus membership number, and then you can get a one way upgrade from economy class to business class! its simple really!. but note you cant book your up-grade until a MAXIMUM! of 3 weeks b4 your departure! ie. youre flying out on june 21st, you can book on june 1st hope this explains it a little easier!
  17. i dont know if you are all aware! (ive been in thailand for a few weeks and my p.c. was knackered b4 that!) but up until august 15th, thai airways are knocking off 8,000 miles for you to up-grade one way to bangkok and vice versa! i got back last week and using your miles from royal orchid plus its now only 32,000 miles for a one way upgrade london to bangkok and vice versa! soo i took advantage of their offer! as i say its until august 15th and you save 8,000 miles! so well worth taking advantage of im myh opinion! great site by the way only joined recently i apologise if this has been posted
  18. hi i got it out of their last newsletter (march-may 2005). so i guess it has to be right! it will be a shame though cos as you say they have good flight times i went out a few weeks ago and i forgot to mention ! but!until august 15th 2005 they have a "promotion" so a one way up-grade uk-bangkok or vice versa! now is only 32,000 miles instead of the usual 40,000! so i came back on business last week for 32,000 miles! i hope to go again in october so im on the look-out for cheap fares!
  19. like many of you guys i normally fly thai, from uk and im in royal orchid plus for the mileage, but from june 1st mileage in economy on V and W class codes wont be eligible for mileage accrual? what a bummer! as the last 2 times (christmas and march) i went i flew on a W class economy ticket- both bought from east west travel, so it looks like thai want us to fly out on a Y class economy ticket (with 110% of mileage accrual) and im guessing Y class will cost us more!?
  20. nah you should be ok! its walking distance ive never gone from one terminal to the other but as long as you dont have to collect your luggage it should be great!
  21. hmmn! shame that cos im heading for pattaya that day but i get in at 06.00
  22. eneukman, im no financial expert but when i retire (sadly not until im bleeding 60!) im gonna take the bigger lump sum and lesser pension. im basing this on the odds of me living long enough to collect the extra yearly pension, what i mean is (although its different for you as you are gonna retire at 50!) but if you take the extra £1,600 per annum pension it will take you 15 years to get the £25,000 lump sum if you get my meaning! as £1,600 X 10 years = £16,000 and to get £24,000 it will take 15 years! so me personally id take the bigger lump sum and even if you dont need it , you can sav
  23. well good luck to your mate with his bar! he needs it as there are always bars up for sale.
  24. as the above comments realy! its good fun! and its that hot right now youll be glad of the soaking! just make sure any money phones etc are well wrapped in plastic! go with the flow and enjoy it! as said its everywhere! and pattaya definetly wont be quiet!
