  1. Thank you for this update Pete....your doing a great job!!! Visitor photo # 4 sure looks cute with that red lipstick si??
  2. Maybe this will help you get started>>>> http://www.pattaya-guesthouses.com/pattaya_apartments.php
  3. I always thought that "shit on a shingle" was chipped beef (chopped and formed, very thin, sliced lunch meat stuff) mixed with gravy and served over a biscuit or a slice of bread??? Sausage gravy is similar, but made with chunks of pork sausage.
  4. Ok....40 sq is a large room....sound about right.....more??? Continuing along with what D has to say about "value" for the money..... Just what are the various opinions as to "value for the money"? I see that phrase often and wonder if it's just an objective term, or is there some factually based rhyme or reason to it??
  5. What I was looking for.... are members opinions on how many square meters constitute a "small room" "average room" and "large room" Example:.... A small room would be <25 sq meters, or....40> sq mtr is a large room.
  6. What would your opinions be about room size.....in sq meters. Small is xx meters square?.....large is?? Some hotel websites list the room size, as do some booking agency sites. Not as much as I would like to see it though. If you want to take that a bit farther, those in the know could list hotels/rooms that would be considered to have small rooms to avoid and hotels where space allocated is generous, without breaking the bank for daily rates.....<2000 baht daily.
  7. Can anyone confirm hotels (<800 to 1200> baht) that have a sofa or easy chair in the rooms? No seating other than the bed or a rock hard, bench style desk chair is not for me.( I have gone so far as to buy one of those white resin style chairs and just leave it behind when I leave) I have seen some room photos where it shows a sofa and or easy chair, but am hoping some of you guys can verify the presence of this from personal knowledge. Even a padded bamboo chair is better than nothing.
  8. Yes Jacko......Pattaya Dental Clinic.... There are two offices.....one on soi 3, and the main office on Therrapasit.... a bit south of the Resident Garden....on the right going to Jomtien. The soi 3 office does only veneers and other work.....the main office does the implants. The older male dentist took xrays....a couple of views, and told me "yes you have plenty of bone to support these implants" Based on this....I went ahead with the two upper incisor implants. It's a very uncomfortable experience!!!! First he has to yank out the loose teeth.....let that heal up for a
  9. I had 2 implants done in Pattaya and all I can say is......have your home country dentist advise you on the "doability" of implants before you plunk down some baht. They are not for everyone......there must be sufficient bone to support the implant. If you have any bone loss due to past or present gum problems......beware ok?
  10. Very nice upfront review...... I wish hotel reviewers were as complete and detailed (including the bad parts) as yours.
  11. Looks like electric is for a month long stay...... At least the note about this, is under the monthly rates. Make sure you get back with the results of your booking request.
  12. Would anyone happen to have first hand information about this bar/guesthouse? http://www.bluemoonpattaya.com/index.html Room photos look super for that price. I am aware of potential noise problems staying over a bar.....other than that...any comments from first hand visitors?
  13. Post an "image" on this board.. "Blues Factory preferred customer card" Print it out....good to go. No print costs to you.....easy for the BM's. Abuse?....perhaps.....take your chances!!!!!
  14. Delicious!!!! A cute face (for me) goes a long way over BUTT ugly!!!!! Firm, high and no blue tatts...yeah baby!!!
  15. If you can get to LAX, China Air will get you to BKK for $1100. Leaving on a tuesday in June. If you can wait until November, the price drops to $900. Perhaps the costs from LV to LAX would not be worth it?
  16. A better step forward would be for people like you to just keep your mouth shut if you don't have anything worthwhile to say or contribute. Frankly, I am weary of seeing your constant attempts to police this board with covert meanings and intentions in your posts, indicating that your "smarter and better" than most.
  17. None too soon Martin....thank you!!!!
  18. Soi 7/1 has the Star hotel, World Inn and Maxims hotel. Decent budget hotels. The Star also runs short time rooms.
  19. If you choose the Jasmine.......avoid the rooms in front facing the street....noisy!!! And....no lift.....get a low floor. The Jasmine also charges a 5% surcharge if you use your credit card......a direct violation of the terms of agreement with Visa and MC.
  20. Kudos to China Airlines!!!!! Due to a brain fart/visa miscalculation, I had to cancel/rebook BKK to LAX to a week earlier than planned. I went to the Bangkok office and spoke to a delightful lady who promply made my changes. I was ready to hand over my CC card for the expected flight change charge. "No sir, there is no charge to change your flight" Wow......I was stunned. And this was just the run of the mill economy ticket!!!!!! Now, due to a family emergency back home, I have to leave Thailand earlier than what was rebooked earlier. Instead of going to
  21. I just left there today Jan 10th 08. The construction noise STILL continues with hammering, grinding and ALL noise associated with a major construction project. My view out the balcony consisted of those green protective sheets wrapped around the rising building. WI-FI was dicey at best in the restaurant. As a matter of honesty, I think the management should post on their website that construction noise continues from 0730 to 1700.
  22. Actually Jordan, it's not so much about being wise, talented or worldly. More about being able to use www.google.com and some leg/finger work. Took me all of 3 minutes to find the EVA fare posted earlier. No amount of wise and talented will get you a better fare. However I will toss out one tidbit of hot scoop for you. 99% of the time, the airlines websites will offer you a better fare by a few bucks than the myraid of travel search engines. Opps....one more bit of "wise"....... http://www.seatexpert.com/ will get you the configuration of nearly every
