excellent post pete, but i think you mean to say you have a Creative X-fi soundcard........

You should have the option of specifying the X-axis size and the Y-axis size (width and height respectively) when you upload/change your avatar. The limit is 150x100. You need to therefore figure out the % of width versus height that you want. For example, if your gif (and I know this is huge) is 640x480, that's a ratio of 1.33:1(1.33 pixels vertical for every 1 pixel horizointal), versus the 1.5:1 of the maximum avatar size. So, still using the previous example, you would make it 133x100 when you uploaded the avatar.

Jasmine Mansion Soi Boukhow
dave_boo replied to MIGHTYONE's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
To Ben99: If you're looking for a hotel in the Soi Bukhaow area, try the Thai Archer. I liked it alot. It doesn't have a lift either, but the Wireless internet was good, they didn't have a joiner fee that I know of, and it's nice anc close to walking street. In fact it's right next door to LK Metro, so that gives you an idea of the location. Just beware, cause I've heard it from others......the receptionist likes to make eyes at you, even if your tilak is standing right there. Of course it could be cause I'm hansum man mak-mak, no? -
I have two laptops. One is a hardcore desktop replacement that weighs almost 10 kilos with the charger and mouse and etc. Definitely not something I like toting around. The other is a Twinhead toughbook style. Definitely the one I prefer. Has the magnesium shell, and is tough as everything. Poor thing has been abuse to hell and back, but keeps ticking.

free calls to LOS from USA
dave_boo replied to aceswild1917's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
This isn't limited to the US folks. Anyone with Skype can make free calls to anywhere in the US (at least till the end of the year). I tried it here in Iraq, and works like a charm. -
Really cute. However, I would like to point out that baseball (GO TIGERS!), has a team in Canada. Would have had two, but the Expos were no good and moved to Washington.

I'm watching this thread with a great deal of interest, since I'm planning on doing the same. However, I have a question for squirtfinder......Do you have any idea how much extra it would take to make a similar house, but with 3 bedrooms?

As others have suggested, simply buy an external enclosure. Pop the old harddrive out of your desktop, install it into your enclosure. Hook it up to your laptop. Assuming you keep everything organised, i.e. using your "My Documents" folder, simply copy that over to your laptops hard drive. Then use the "Start->All Programmes->Accessories->System Tools->Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" that Martin was talking about. The wizard will take you through some steps, and where you need to pay attention is when it gets to the "Do you have a Windows XP CD?" step. You need to select

And the non-American part of the board didn't understand the joke. Virginians, people.

If you had to move from Thailand where would you go and why?
dave_boo replied to sinkorswim's topic in Expat Issues
From the limited list, I picked China. Only because the ladies are so damn sexy and their economy is going like gang-busters. However, I'm going to side with Braveheart and say that Nepal has a place that's dear to my heart. And BigChief, welcome back. -
Damnit Lord Flash, I'm jealous. Good luck with your business, and best of wishes. Try and leave some BG unmolested so I don't get your sloppy seconds please

I'm going to go with the general consensus here and say that I'd rather error on the side of caution. A 20 or 100 bhat note will NOT put me in the poor house and it helps my kharma. What that person does after that is purely up to them, but I've done the 'good' thing in this instance and will stand by my decision.

My only question: Do they have internet in the rooms?
-
Well, it's been a year of trips to FLB and I have decided to make sure that there's a party commemorating it. Standard fare, with Tex-Mex food being served, and Cheerleader outfits for the girls.

Hey, I'm going to be in country the end of August. If you know where we can catch a few Tigers games, I'll bring the booze.
