honey pot closed along with many more to come
TheFiend replied to hillbilly's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
No...it's a sad picture!!! Sadly, there are too many bars for the number of punters in town nowadays, it was only a matter of time before bars started getting knocked down and replaced with something else. In may I took a look at where my old bar was at Soi 9/Second Road to see the sad sight of market stalls where the bar used to be. I am glad I got out of the bar business when I did.... -
Airbus and Boeing products running behind schedule

The 737 is a 45 year old design and the NG was a reaction to the A320. It is time for Boeing to start with a clean sheet. -

Boeing total wide-body orders was less than that number because some of those orders announced at Paris were already logged as "unidentified customers"... And one of the other "orders" was a "Letter of Intent" As for passengers wanting to fly the A380... people have heard of them, just like they have heard of Jumbos or Concorde. With regards to the NEO orders, it demonstrates airlines want to invest in newer, more fuel efficient and lower emmissions technology. Boeing, sitting on the fence before deciding what to do, will suffer because of it. Airbus have a head start on them because of that. -

Oh dear, look like MrMango is starting to pick up BigD's bad habits with quotes. As for failure to reply to your demands... ever heard of search engines? At the tine of my previous reply I was just head up to the bedroom to join my Thai bed-warmer, and I think her needs take priority over MrMangos..... Thanks to Tom for backing up my post whilst I was nicely tucked up in bed. -
Should you pay for Wi-Fi? Airports explore tiered service

Providing free WiFi can attract customers to a business, and it's why many companies do offer it... -

Well some people must want to fly them..... passenger numbers passed them million mark a long time ago.... -

Why is that? You seem to forget that the A320 series is a moneymaker for Airbus.... Also, the A380 program is expected to start making a profit around 2014/2015. And congrats to Airbus for securing another 12 orders for the A380. Incidentally airlines that are sing the A380 have all seen an increase in passenger numbers whilst their competitors have seen a decrease. Passengers want to fly A380. And I certainly don't complain my taxes have gone to help Airbus develop some great aircraft. -

The Boeing fanboys seem to have gone quiet...... wonder why? It looks like the 320NEO has blown away the 737NG this year!!! -

Search for it and you can find plenty of free WiFi. The sad thing is companies think they can make money from providing WiFi. If free WiFi isn't available I certainly won't pay to use it. I'd rather do without!!! -

Well done to Airbus for repairing the damage and returning F-WWDD to the Airshow. They're are rumours of a new A380 order being announced during the show, if they can find the time to fit the announcement in with all the A320NEO orders that are being announced.... -

I don't claim to be knowledgeable about the industry, I just have an interest in air travel. -

Do they? So why were orders getting announced in the weeks leading up to Paris? What about the recent Thai Airways and Cebu orders? -

And taking off from Manchester... Etihad has 777-300ERs flying the Manchester route, but since Emirates went 3x daily the load factors on the Etihad flights have dropped dramatically so they would be better off using A330's again on that route. On my recent trip both the flight out and the flight in were less than 50% full. -

So your blaming poor panel fit on the maintenance providers.... suprise, suprise!!! One of the ones I flew on was A6-ETF, only delivered 18 months ago. It exhibited the same ill fitting panels as the others I flew on ETB,ETD and ETE. The panels were not the same shape as the roof profile, hence the poor panel fit. It was nothing to do with been badly fitted by a maintenance fitter. -

In denial...... NOT!!! I've never claimed that the Trent engine hasn't suffered from faults or failures but all you Boeing fan-boys fail to acknowledge the failures of GE, P&W and EA engines.... Want to talk about bad design and construction.... On my last trip I flew of 4 out of the 7 Etihad 777-300ERs in service and they all suffered from badly fitted interior panels where the shape of the panels failed to match the shape of the cabin. -

Wrong.... there are quite a number of Trent engines in service, having been available since the mid 90's on the A330, A340 and also the 777. -

News article taken from flightglobal Lets hope Airbus don't suffer the problems with the A350 that have affected the 7LATE7!!! -
There's a lot shite that comes out of Hollywood, never gets a cinema release and just goes straight to video. OK "P" never made it to global release, but that fact doesn't make it a bad film. Also many Thai films never get released outside of Thailand.
-
Thailand has a thriving movie industry, sadly very few films get released globally. Its a shame because there are quite a few good Thai films. Also very few Thai movies get released on DVD with English subtitles. There are plenty of Thai films available on torrent sites... you just need to look for them.

Yesterday morning the Etihad flight landed at Manchester 30 minutes early and no gate was available.... so we we parked on one of the taxi-ways for 20 minutes until one was available.... Immigration only had 5 desks open so getting through immigration was slow, but luckily nobody was on customs so we waltzed through with my load of cheap baccy from Bangkok!!!
-
Just landed back this morning with Etihad and I'm sad to say but the return trip wasn't an improvement on the outward trip.... personally I think the on-board experience is sadly not as good as Emirates..... And I definitely recommend flying A380 compared to the 777-300ER, the 777 feels a lot more claustrophobic in the high density configuration that both Emirates and Etihad use.

For Frequent Fliers, a Ranking of the Stingiest Airlines

Emirates 35.7%??? Personally I've had 100% success rate with them for reward flights..... even on the days that I wanted to fly!!!
