Yes, that would have been my preferred way of doing things. However, I started talking to the receptionist first and it became obvious very quickly that he had no intention of talking to me directly. I then did what I usually do when given poor service and took my business elsewhere. Denis, I except your apology. I hope that you can use this event to improve your business in the future.

I am going to go again the flow of this thread and post about a negative experience that I had with this establishment. While I was in Pattaya in September I had a look at quite a few rooms in Soi LK Metro. My aim at that time was to find somewhere were I could stay each trip. I was shown a very nice large room on the first floor and thought that it would do very nicely. I made bookings for October and into November, December and January and I think for the trip following that. On arrival I found myself in a smaller room on the third floor. I didn't say anything when I was taken to the room as I wanted to make sure that what I remembered was correct. As I arrived late on the first day I had other priorities. The next day I check my receipt and it had written on it that I had the larger room booked (ie room number 1.) I approached the receptionist about it who spoke to Denis about the situation. She stated that she had told me before I left the last time that they had changed my room. However, this was not the case as I would have asked to see the room to make sure that it was suitable. Even though I was pissed of about being stuffed around there was something that pissed me off even more. Denis was present in the bar while I was talking to the receptionist. He was fully aware of what was going on. At no stage did he talk directly to me and in no way offered an apology. I stayed 2 nights while I sorted out other accommodation and I cancelled all of my bookings with them. I will not stay at this hotel again. When I checked out I told the receptionist that I had the prior dealings with that I didn't think much of her boss' attitude. She said that he was a good man with a good heart. Perhaps he is good to his employees but in my case he didn't look after his customer. He knew that I was a potential long term customer and apparently he didn't give a shit.

Sounds like an interesting trip Paul. You'll have to fill in all the details over a few beers at the Five Star next week. Looking forward to seeing Jan tomorrow night..

I am planning on opening a bank account in Pattaya next week. The primary reason for this is to transfer my spending funds to it before I head to LOS. I know that there are many threads recommending different banks but very few mention internet banking facilities. Is internet banking the norm in Thailand? Can anyone recommend a good bank with good internet banking facilities?

Visa on arrival - new regs question
Scumbag replied to Trvlr's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
I am only talking about the visa waiver scheme for certain nationalities here as I assume that is what the OP is talking about. I believe the confusion is caused by early reports of the change in the law (or rather the enforcement of an earlier law.) Early reports said that you could have 3 entries (of up to 30 days each) in any 6 month period. However later reports indicated that you could spent up to 90 days in any 180 days in Thailand with no restriction on the number of entries. I followed this quite closely as I thought it would affect my plans. -
Here is a good reason why there should be an Intelligence test before a driver's licence is issued.. German obeys navigator, crashes car Sunday Oct 22 22:41 AEST A German motorist followed the command "Turn right now!" from his navigation system and crashed into a small toilet hut by the side of the road, about 30 metres before the crossing he was meant to take. The overly obedient 53-year-old from Freiburg drove his sport utility vehicle off the road onto into a building site, up a stairway and into the small toilet shack, police in the eastern town of Rudolstadt said on Sunday. It caused damage to the stairway, his car, and he was also fined. Link

If you are concerned about keystroke loggers then I guess all you want to do is not type in your details on an insecure computer. A way to do this is to have a text file with your log-ins details on your thumb drive. Obviously don't have what sites they are for on the same thumb drive. When you want to log in open the text file and copy and paste the information into the correct places.

Here is a link that should help. Google is a great tool if you learn how to use it properly... Thai land area conversion

At the moment I (and you) have to use two sets of scroll bars to access all of the smileys. If the box wasn't so tall only one set could be used (ie the set on the smiley box.) Perhaps the box could be shorter but wider. Have you been drinking too mutt again??...
-
It fits????? Really!!! Well then try to get this smiley without using the right most scroll bar. You will notice on your screen that the scroll bar on the bottom of the smiley box is not visible. Therefore you can not get this smiley I’m not sure I understand it…
-
Always one smart arse around the place, eh??... Here is a screen shot so that the less intelligent (ie Braveheart) can understand.. The window is maximised.
-
Is it just me or is the smiley box on the posting page too tall? It doesn't fit on my screen and I find it very awkward to use.

It may take a little while for lostinspace to get back to you. He is in Australia at the moment.

There is a way you can get them into Live Messenger. I am not advocating that you do this and I am just posting it for information purposes only. Find the emoticons that you would like. Right click on each one and use 'Save Picture as..' to save a copy to your hard drive. In Live Messenger click Tools on the toolbar and hit 'My Emoticons.' Click on 'Create' then...well I think you will be able to work it out from there. It is a bit tedious if you have a lot you want.

I have found a problem with the member's calander. I have a ranged event from the 18th of Dec until the 10th of Jan. On the calander my event stops on the 1st of Jan. No other event carries on from Dec into Jan past the 1st. Gabor's does only because he has put in a second event that starts on the 1st to get around the problem.

Maybe if you ask MM nicely he might put it in the FAQ section.

Good work getting the calendar back to the way it was with the previous version...

The Clickable Smilies on the posting page could do with a bit of adjusting. There are two of these.. ..and this one... ....is not there even though it was used a lot in the old version. Anyone see anything else missing?

The colour of the check boxes on poll pages doesn't quite match the background.
