glynbuk replied to a topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Bloody funny, google maps says London to Pattaya (chonburi) Driving directions to Pattaya, Chon Buri, Thailand This route has tolls. This route includes a car transport. Turn left in Pakistan, Turn right after Bhutan and your there -

Now i am confused, The one i posted was on Thappraya road, http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?3ZnRUX7mkcBCQDRA Yours is about 50 yards further along the same road If you look at my link and see the "continental bakery" van parked just outside, past the van you can see the "romeo house" whatever that is and your one is next door to that http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?eUnRUM8mkc7BJDRA I assume they are part of the same group because when the OP mentions continental bakery, the one that came to mind was this one http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?dFvRUH4rkcYC

Five extraordinary airport lounges-from CNN
glynbuk replied to bigdelta's topic in Airline Discussion
I did the Hong Kong one in business with Cathay Pacific going to Manila a few years back, not bad. I also did Emirates first class through Dubai and that was very good in the new terminal. This year on my return after the new year i have First class on Thai, so looking forward to that. -
Is there another airport in Bangkok area that could take long distance flights if something were to happen to Suvarnabhumi ???

Last Xmas i stayed at the Sandy Spring and walked by the Dynasty frequently going to second road, they had signs out even at Xmas offering bargain rates on the hotel, so i assume they weren't full last year. http://www.scandibar.com/hotel/dyn-pty/

Is there a currency exchange in the departure area
glynbuk replied to bigdelta's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Yes, i used one a couple of years ago and it was by the duty free shops as the above has stated. The rate of exchange wasn't as good as it could be but fair enough. I would assume it is open at that early hour as its a 24 hour airport but cannot be sure. -
Walked around the soi Buakhao....
glynbuk replied to Gabor's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
But really, thanks to Gabor for this information. 70baht + the tip is good value for a 30minute haircut, and 100 baht for a foot massage is good value too, i have stayed in the LK Metropole a few years back and didn't spend enough time in that area, a thing i intend to rectify this Xmas. 5 weeks today to wheels up -

Bangkok Airport Fast Track Immigration Service
glynbuk replied to Greg_B's topic in Airline Discussion
I had my reply and confirmation yesterday, they cocked up the arrival date as they don't seem to understand the american/thai date system. The system where you fill in the details put the arrival date as "2011/12/16" automatically which they confirmed as Oh for fucks sake, so thats the 12 day of the 16th month then is it After a quick email to tell them they cocked up and i arrive on the 16th December 2011 (OR 16/12/2011) Why oh why do all these foreigners mess about with the calendar system Odds on they will be meeting the right plane on the wrong day -
Bangkok Airport Fast Track Immigration Service
glynbuk replied to Greg_B's topic in Airline Discussion
I have just sent a booking request for http://www.bangkokflightservices.com/PremiumAirportServices.php?our_menu=pr1 for the fasttrak and golf cart, 1300 baht seems worth it for my Xmas trip. Last Xmas i paid slightly less but no electric cart but this time my leg is playing up so 1300baht is worth the extra. Last time i paid the guy cash after we had met my limo pattaya guy at gate 3 but this time it asks for a credit card form to be sent by email to the listed address, oh well, i have used a throw away credit card i use for instances just like this. Waiting for a confirmation re -
Sounds great, and the price for that ???

Thepprasit night market seems to at the other end of this road. http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?venRUv9mkcYB Never been and this trip i am staying at the residence garden on thappraya road so this would be the easy way to get there for me i guess. if you go down to the youtube video on this page http://www.pattayaconcierge.com/specified-place/thepprasit-night-market/201100000003/shopping/ there is a pop up map image which shows the market very well
