Hey all,

I am planning to head out to Pattaya in Feb (first time in Thailand). I was wondering if it will be easy to find a decent hotel room at that time of the year near the nightlife and doesn't mind guests.

Anyone have any advice on good places to stay and if I need to book in advance?

Cheers! <laugh

my first time was this year in june and I stayed on soi 13 at the LEK hotel it was great and as I was there for 4weeks i payed only 700baht a night, the location is fantastic and the soi is mostly very quiet with all the nightlife in neighboring sois there are 4/5 different hotels in soi13 and i think all are in the best area in pattaya

anyone would be good for a first timer

ps IMHO the best british grub is to be had in the sportsmans bar also in soi13 and all at great prices

pps dont play pool with the waitresses they will kill you take your money and laugh over your much poorer corpse

As always my recommendation is Dynasty Resort on the hill in South Pattaya. 1100 baht with no breakfast for a superior room. Girl friendly, a few pics below. A 5-10 ride to the action, nice and quiet with a great pool.

Everyone had their own preference but I have stayed there probably more than half a dozen times and had no problems. I've heard the prices may have inceased recently but you can negotiate at the reception. I always do, smile, have a joke and you'll normally get what you want. (within reason) In-room service excellent and cheap.

No problem booking a hotel during February. All sorts of availability.

For those who worry about crossing 2nd Rd then you shouldn't be traveling out of your city. That risk is much overrated unless your the type that gets too drunk. during the last 3 years I've spent 1 year in Pattaya and I've never seen or heard of anyone getting hit by a vehicle.

Kinell Emil, I'm always pissed in Pattaya and have nearly lost my life on numerous occasions on 2nd Road. I'm thinking of employing someone to get me safely across 2nd Road on a permanent basis.

Trouble is I can't wait 15 minutes to cross the road.

"...you shouldn't be traveling out of your city."

Be nice now, Emil!

I've only spent about 6-7 months there in the last three years, and I've had some near misses crossing at Kiss Food in the morning! If those damn motos wouldn't travel against the traffic, it wouldn't be such an issue! It's the worst between about Soi 11 and the "13's". South of Pattaya Tai and north of Soi 6 it doesn't seem to be such a problem.

If you find a hotel that you like with the right price, it shouldn't matter where it is within reason. I might even get wild and crazy and rent a hotel for the first three days and go wandering after that next spring. Stranger things have happenned.

Well I don't worry about it, just pointing out that sometimes it can be tricky to cross and I don't drink. Never worry about it. Not once. really. Always get across eventually. Wouldn't even think about staying at home in my city over something like that. That would be just plain silly .
