Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Couple questions about the Queen Victoria Inn.

Recommended Posts

Just had a few questions to people that have stayed there, that they didn't answer in the return email.

1. I assume they are guest friendly?

2. On the webpage it says weekly rates, but they wouldn't answer that either and the prices they gave are different than whats posted on the webpage. (higher)

3. Whats the difference between the 3 types of rooms?

And thats pretty much it. Looking for a nice budget type hotel near the action because there are 3 of us going and all of us have different budgets but want to stay in the same hotel.

mmmmmm,

I heard they were ok but i also know a guy who was ripped here.Definately guest friendly. Why anyone would want to stay in an English pub setting in pattaya is, however beyond me. <laugh If I want to look at sorry assed piss heads, there are 500 pubs within 1 mile of here! 2guns

B) You could try the southern star resort, I have been in touch and it seems good value with very nice rooms. 1luv

<laugh Look at the hotels under 100baht in the hotels reviewsection on this board. :beer

I haven't stayed at the Queen Vic but I've eaten there many times and the food is good. The location is great and the owner is well liked. They have many repeat customers.

Yes they are guest friendly and Pattaya is in high season and the hotels charge more. They will cut there prices in low season. I have no info on the different rooms.

Fair point, but then your average Pattaya hotel room isn't exactly steeped in Thai ethnicity is it? B)

Hey MetalDog, I stayed at the QueenVic in July for 3 weeks and had a great time. Bert the manager will promptly take care of any problems we "Yanks" have. Had a "Penthouse Flat" on the top floor. You can read my review in the review section. Very very girl friendly as i was quite the butterfly this last time. Penthouse is very roomy and has a balcony to watch the soi six action. Don't BF those girls, or at least until the end of your trip though. If you email him, it might take a few days for him to reply. PM me if you have any other questions. -Mac

Pretty well impossible to imagine a hotel in soi 6 not being guest friendly unless its an absentee owner who doesn't know about "soi filthy" as the Thais call it.

I stayed at the QV last April and had one of the Penthouse rooms. It was very roomy and had plenty of closet space to use. Girl friendy for sure. I paid 700 baht per night and was still getting the same price per night for my next trip in April.

email Bert and he will be most helpful.

I tried to make a reservation at the QV for late February - Bert got back to me right away and said the better rooms were full, so he got me a room in their new sister hotel, the Lord Nelson, instead for 700b a night.

I had to change my reservation slightly to allow for Bangkok activities, and once again he got back to me right away and did it without any problem.

I'm looking forward to checking out both establishments and their surrounding area...

Bert speaks a similar language that we yanks can somewhat understand on a good day. :banghead

Instead of a budda I prefer a live bit of Thai authenticity in my room.

Just for your information folks, Bert now has his own bar, named Tropical Bert's. It is located in Soi Regent Marina, which is the soi running down the side after the 2nd Rd bowling alley, or if coming down beach road from the north, just after Henry J Beans, almost at the end near the beach.

It is an excellent bar, very friendly, and good food. He is not doing rooms yet, but they are on the horizon soon. Golfers meet every Tuesday if you are interested.

Well worth a visit.

Bert left the QV in Jan 2005, to open his own business. The Penthouse Flats are very nice and big, but those stairs do get to be a pain in the arse.

The food is very good, drinks are reasonable and the location is great.

But without Bert and a girl named Bee, it's not as good was in the past.
