singapore airlines/executive economy

Recommended Posts

The Singapore Air flight with Executive Economy actually flies out of Newark (EWR), non-stop to Singapore. The seats have a 37" pitch, each with their own video screen, and the layout is 2-3-2, if I recall correctly. Also, there's a stand-up bar that comes in handy as a place to hang out and stretch your legs, which is a good thing since the flight is 18.5 hours. The good news is that once you get to Singapore, you've just got the short hop to Bangkok. Overall, I'd say the experience bests Eva but not because of anything negative about Eva -- Singapore Air is just hard to beat for comfort and service...and those flight attendants, of course. It is a bit more expensive than Eva, but you should give it a try if you get the chance.

Enjoy.

Sing Premium Economy is great. I took the reverse flight, from Singapore to Newark and wished the flight was longer so I could watch more movies! They have 60 movies on demand, you can watch em anytime you want plus old TV shows. You can also play chess and other games.

Best food I've ever had on an airline.

I manged to snag a bulkhead seat but a guy at the stand up bar said even his middle seat was very comfortable.

18.5 hours, I assume thats non stop, which way does it go as it must be pretty much the opposite side of the world from New York?

Wasn't there an aussie guy whinging about a 10 hour flight? :P

Mines 11/12 hrs and quite long enough. :D

My experince is that singapore premium economy is the best economy I have ever flown. Same goes for singapore business class. I have never flown EVA delux but from what my friend have told me I surmise that the seats would be bigger on EVA. If you are a big guy that might be a consideration. 2guns

It takes the Pacific route. I would think because of wind patterns it would be quicker to fly to Singapore via the Atlantic and return via the Pacific. My guess

is there's some political/business reason to fly both ways over the Pacific.

Singapore Executive Economy also is on some flights from LAX

Aardvark,

Would you by any chance know which flights have the "Premium Economy" or "Executive Economy"? I was thinking about using SIA out of LAX or SFO. Thanks.

I agree, it was the best economy flight I have ever taken.  The seats are roomy and the leg room is terrific.  The plane was a little more quiet as well...

1. What's best airline to fly? I have $1000 milage credit to use on any airline. I guess higher angle reclining seats (pitch) and footrest would be great. What is singapore premium economy? I don't seem to find it on the website. 1luv I'm reading the above posts and I'm not sure their $961 flight is economy or premium. Thanks

Doctor, the non-stops from Newark to Spore have jsut two classes Raffles and Executive (Premium) Economy. It's an Airbus 345. Unlike United economy Plus that sucks, Sing Exec Economy is really special.

Thai Airways also uses an Airbus 345 for it's non-stop but

1) Is the seating plan the same?

2) Do they have 60 movies on demand?

Not a big deal but I doubt if the food will be as good as on Sing.
