Having stayed there, played golf there several times, etc., I can tell you the following:

Definitely geared towards families, reasonably priced rooms, and the breakfast buffet is excellent!

And, yes, I think it's probably 'guest friendly' based on some of the 'guests' I've seen strolling around.

Cancel your reservation, its a shithole. :angry2

I went there on my first trip to Pattaya 5 years ago. First night I took a gogo girl back and was told I would have to pay 500 baht guest fee. :wtf

As I was paying the same rate for a single room as a double room, I informed them that I would be checking out in the morning. :finger

Also, it is too far from everywhere and you need to take taxi's to and from. :clap2

The above poster is spot on with what he writes however, it's not a shithole & on the plus side the rooms are nice enough, staff are courteous, nice pool with swim up bar and a lovely beach area with some bars run by the locals.

Nice place to stay for a couple.

Not suited to singles who want to play the field :cry1

I have never been to Asia Pattaya, but have stayed at Asia Bangkok...

FUCKING KILLED ME W/ GUEST FEES!

Fucked up our reservation first night and stuck three of us GUYS in ONE room!

Breakfast buffet was ok IF you get up early. Sleep till 10 and you get shit leftovers

Rooms are OK, but not for the price. Hotel is tired.

Lots of families.

Listen to the other boardies, you can do MUCH better than an Asia (corp) Hotel.

The Asia hotel is not guest friendly, simple as that. But to suggest that it is a totally crap hotel because of that one issue isn't doing any favours for the guys who may be travelling with their wives or girlfriends. For those guys, its low-season rates (pay 7, get 7 free) are a bit of a bargain (particularly as part of a flight/accommodation package) and the choice of food, decent pool area/gardens, golf course, beach location, good staff are all in its favour.

I have stayed there also on my first trip to Pattaya. Nice enough staff, They do charge joiner fees and it is so far from the action. Better to stay within walking distance if you can to Beach Road and Waling Street. Asia Bangkok was good for me though and very handy with sky train right out the front.
