An introduction

Hello

A new member saying hello. A quick introduction and how I became "interested" in Thailand.

 

I knew nothing of the place but got convinced to go on a last minute trip with some friends to Bangkok for a week last November. To say it was an eye-opening week would be an understatement...

 

I seemed to return home with an unusual desire to return to Thailand as soon as possible - a feeling that was very bad for the first month of getting back, and only slowly faded over time.

 

Anyhow, the good news is that I am flying back for 2 weeks from the 26th May -> 9th June. 3 days in BKK and then 10 in Pattaya. This time I will be on my own as I did not convince any friends to come with me (at least ones that would prefer to see the same delights of Thailand as myself).

 

I seem to now spend a lot of time counting down the days and hours until I'm on my way back.

 

I wonder if my desire to visit Thailand will be fulfilled once this holiday is over?

If you got hooked on LOS from being in Bangkok for a few days then you will be forever planning your next trip once you've been to Pattaya.

 

Welcome to the board, enjoy the reading and don't be afraid to ask questions. For most questions you can find the answers in previous posts by using the search engine. Don't be afraid of anything that anyone says on the board, some of the guys just like to have some fun once in awhile.

Welcome to the board. As Braveheart pointed out, if you enjoyed Bangkok that much, you'll be enchanted with Pattaya. But please remember to pace yourself, cause it's all to easy to go overboard.

 

In retrospect, no it's not. You'll get plenty of rest once you get back to work and start planning your next trip!

same story for me. i was holidaying in hong kong in feb 05. some friends flew from uk to LOS so we flew from hkg to bkk to meet up with them in pattaya and the rest as they say is history!

welcome to the board. ask away but don't ask me too many questions - i'm still a newbie so i probably won't be able to provide much info but i'll try. there are some great BMs here with vast experience who can provide you with all the info you need & then some!

Hi Sloppy and Welcome!

I think that as you enjoyed Bangkok on your first visit you`ll probably enjoy all that Pattaya has to offer even more!

But I think after your trip to Pattaya you will just want to keep returning that is it`s effect on me,not that I`m compaining of course

I don't know if I should congratulate you for discovering Thailand or feel sorry for you.

I found Thailand 12 years ago and it changed my life forever. I cannot have "normal" relationship back home ever since. Nor do I want to settle down and get married back home. I've been going to Thailand ever since and all I want to do is make enough money and go back "home" to Pattaya and enjoy something I can't have back home. If it wasn't for Pattaya, I would have been married with 2 kids, a dog, goldfish and a house in the suburbs with mortgage payments and a fat whinning wife.

I guess it saved me for good but sometimes I feel that I got cursed by finding it too early.

Oh well, I guess I have to deal with Pattaya and those young bar girls.
