LHR to BKK Thai aiways direct

Recommended Posts

Travelocity are offering on their UK site tickets with Thai Air and Eva London to BKK for £427 in Sept - Tax included. This is £7 dearer than the Etihad flight which is non direct !!!

A bargain in my eyes but I'm not happy as I've already bought my Etihad tickets :bj1

I also brought my ticket 2 months ago and Eva have dropped the price by £100 and Thai ae now £150 cheaper than when I booked

Hi,

It's hard to get it right. Best just to book when you can, it evens up over the years.

From my experience with flights ex UK i usually get the cheapest prices by booking 6 to 8 weeks prior to departure. This excludes the usual high season periods of Christmas/Easter/school holidays.

I am thinking of making a quick trip to LOS and have been looking at fares a lot just lately.

Eva is a good deal but I think you have to book before 15th august, maybe Thai has the same cut off date.

Hi gus

Check this link it shows cut of dates for certain prices if the link dont work its on airline networks home page go to best buys and click on bangkok.I am thinking of flying out 30 nov arrive 1st dec with eva for 425 all in,if you leave in dec it shoots up to 560.Also tempted to fly evergreen deluxe from amsterdam for 670(750 from heathrow) all in then easy jet for 40 return from liverpool and maybe spend a night in amsterdam, have heard elite class is shite compared to evergreen deluxe on the 747 which eva still use from amsterdam.

That airline network link is brilliant, and I thought I knew the best sites :chogdee

I was thinking of having a quick weeks hols in maybe hong Kong but the fares are crap.

i was thinking HKG because I want to go LOS for a month in November. and didn't want to spoil it.

I will give it a few days but I am sure common sense will prevail and I will go late September and 4 weeks November/december.

:beer :wtf

Gus & others also travelling from the UK,

Also check out

www.cheapflights.co.uk

The best fare I found was £423.20 at www.ebookers.com flying direct with thai flying out on 21st Sept, but as you mentioned, this must be booked before 15th Aug & the max stay is 1 month.

Now that I've saved so much on the flight, and get to fly direct, I can splurge on some really upmarket accomodation.....

Apex hotel here I come!

bigmofo,

Thanks for the link .......... it's much appreciated and a great improvement on the previous efforts where you had to churn through each day to find availability.

As an aside ....... 1,174 quid for biz class on Qatar from Manchester is an absolute steal .....

:D Hi Tom,

How is life treating you?

That price you qoute for qatar is that a 3 month ticket and available for end nov start dec departure?

I was looking at china buisness which is not much cheaper.

I might go buisness this year and treat myself.

I am of to north berwick sunday for at least 3 months work refurbishing the marine hotel which sits on the golf course, company is paying for self catering cottage or lovely flats right on the beach,12 hour shifts 7 days a week and a good overtime rate.

The scottish call berwick the scottish riveria :D not that iam there for a holiday iam there to make money to fund my trip, but if i take the odd day off it looks a nice place to chill and have a round of golf.

I might even stay up in scotland when this job is finished there is loads of good paying work in scotland at the minute, better money even than london(TO MANY POLISH WORKING FOR 20 POUND A DAY :clap1 ) and much cheaper to live.

Where i live in north wales the poles were working for 20 pound a day cash, then a group of chinese hit town and undercut them by 5 pound a day and they sleep on the job.I am all for people moving away for better money but this takes the piss, the government think the poles are good for the economy,i dont think so as a lot of them work for cash so pay no tax and they claim benefits, plus the government have to pay the likes of me benefits because the poles are taking the work :bow The only good thing is most of them are shite trades man and will not get work on new build work where the work gets checked and has to be a certain standard.I had a job working at R.A.F valley not to far from my home it was supossed to be for 3 years, but after about six months of working there 2 poles started with us,they were sound lads but there quality of work was shite, before long there was 4 more poles only one of them was any good.

Then one monday the boss laid all us white boys off :D I told him he was a greedy cunt and the poles were shite we were carring them somewhat which the boss did not realize as he was never on the job.Anyway a few months later he lost the 3 year rolling contract because the work went down hill plus the main contractor probably did not like the fact that he did not adjust his prices as his labour cost was reduced by more than half(SOM NOM NA).

Anyway sorry about long post but iam bored at home, back to topic i will ring qatar direct and see what price they offer maybe get a good deal as there are 4 of us flying on the same dates sometimes they do good companion fares so will see if they offer any deals for 4 tickets, good luck :D

Life is good at the moment ......... making some decent cash out here and LOS is only 6 hours away so I'm raking in the mileage as well.

The price was for 15/11-7/12 and the conditions were for a max stay of 1 month. I think a 3 month ticket is 1,300 quid plus.

Travelmood is doing a companion fare around the 1,245 quid mark so they may be worth giving a call.

OK, I have just booked a quickie, flight not ST

I got Eva air 29th Sept back 7th Oct £335 + tax at OURS, I was hoping for 315-320 but WTF, the Taiwanese girl who looked after me was worth the extra.

Not sure where to stay, maybe Baybreeze again or Areca although soi 13 means less walking, so maybe SS.

Should be interesting arriving 30th September

Pilot to Co-pilot " That looks like the new airport"

"Cabin Crew, prepare for landing" :D

Gus,

How much did the taxes come to?

I just booked thai 21st sept - 15th oct for £424 all in.

The website saysprices from £310 but every single combination i put in came to £424 for thai & £425 for eva so i went for my preferred option.

On where to stay -i know what you mean, soi 13 is fuckin' convenient. I have just booked whitehouse cond after tims failed to budge on a quote of 2500b. At 1800b, the whitehouse studio looks a steal!

But I can also recommend the sandy spring. the seaview deluxe is spacious and the bed is positioned so that you can wake up with a bird in your arms looking out to the sea & the islands -pure class!

My taxes worked out at £108, 335+108= £443, I was hoping for £425 inc but I have booked my seat as well. The Taiwanese girl showed me her screen with the seat layout for that day, this showed what seats were available.

Interestingly the back section of economy wasn't available, I think this may be due to weighting the aircraft correctly with it's centre of Gravity. Probably fill the rear up last.

On the day when I check in I'll ask at the desk how full the flight is and see if a seat with no-one next to me is available.

Hopefully i will pay my £18 and go in the SAS lounge and have an aperitif or two :chogdee2
