Lodging Recs near the Areca Lodge

I like the Areca Lodge but don't want to pay their extra tax for the New Years Eve buffet (1700 bht), plus the extra 300 bht per night btwn Christmas and New Years. I like the area and am looking for any recommendations for lodging in the general vicinity of Areca. Prefer a place with a pool, but not a necessity.

A small place called Jasmine Mansion is on Soi Bukhaow... it's very close to Areca Lodge. A smaller but clean place and about half the price. I have stayed there in last May and was alright. Nothing fancy but ok for the price. I paid 600 baht per day for standard room.
