Oasis Hong Kong Airlines

Recommended Posts

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, established in February 2005, is a budget airline based in Hong Kong, with its hub at Hong Kong International Airport. It will commence service in long-haul flights between Hong Kong and Europe in October 2006, and between Hong Kong and the United States in the months following Hong Kong-Europe launch. Oasis will be flying 2 ex-Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 aircrafts.

Oasis Hong Kong Airlines is founded by a Pastor, Rev. Raymond C. Lee, and his wife, Priscilla H. Lee. The chief executive, Steve Miller, was founder and first chief executive of another Hong Kong based airline, Dragonair.

Oasis is Hong Kong's first budget fare, long-haul passenger airline. It plans to begin offering non-stop service to London in October 25 of 2006, followed by Milan, Berlin, Cologne/Bonn (Germany) and destinations in the U.S. (Oakland, Chicago).

Sales are expected to start in September 2006 through the company website and travel agents. One-way fares will start at £75 or HK$1,000 (excluding taxes and charges) for at least 10% of the seats available and include hot meals and inflight entertainment.

Oasis destinations are all leading budget carrier hubs. London Gatwick, Milan Malpensa, and Berlin Schönefeld , for instance, are hubs for UK's budget carrier Easyjet, which serves over 30 European destinations. Cologne Bonn Airport is the main hub of German low cost airline, Germanwings. In addition, Oakland International Airport is a hub for Southwest Airlines and a focus city for JetBlue Airways.

Just went to the site and punched in some dates from Gatwick to HKG, £248 round trip, all in for November. I have to move to England...

You can take a 1 hr ferry from the airport to Macau (never having to touch your baggage or go through customs) for about £8, then fly Asia Air to BKK for about £70, RT all in - now that is a deal... :clueless

I do not think that I would do it though, unless I wanted a few days in BKK, too much fucking about :D

For those that wish to go to Manila, flights are available for about £80 return from BKK

Hi,

Heard Macau is OK for ladies as well. Hope to use that service at some stage.

Thanks for the link.

Tried dates over Xmas 20/21 Dec - 8/9 Jan. Under 400 quid all in using oasis to HKG and then Emirates for the HKG-BKK legs. A bargain for the guys on a budget. That said, Phuket Airways also seemed like a bargain at the time. :thumbup

Just read on the news that they finally took off, after delay's with some Russian red tape.

Really good prices at £75 economy and £475 biz o/w, plus you get food, it is this price for the 1st month This is really good, considering Bangkok-Hongkong has loads of airlines flying this route dirt cheap.

Thanks for the heads up :D

I wonder how much connecting flights to Manila or Bangkok would be? After seeing some of the AC pictures, I could be tempted to take a trip there :D

I just checked out Oasis for the dates I want to go to LOS to see if it works out cheaper via HKG.

£99 out and £99 return = £198 WRONG + tax of £105 outbound and £43 return total £347.

How the tax is 105 from London and 43 from HKG only Gordon Brown knows.
