Went to Brentford with Filipina in tow a few years ago. Unable to get tickets for away end so went into the New road stand. Cardiff scored after 10 mins, Filipina goes loopy, I sit and smile. To cut a long story short, Stewards came over and escorted us to away end as some Brentford fans were intent on attacking us. Which was pretty pathetic of those involved. Filipina couldnt see what she done wrong, but enjoyed her walk up the touchline, and her brief chat with Rob Earnshaw :banghead As I say, nutters at all clubs :D

I took my son to that game but couldn't get in. The Cardiff fans were queing all around Breama Road. It was like the battle scene from Braveheart. Flags, banners and half naked youths. I have never seen so many Coppers at a match. Gave up and went to pub, then waited for a bus home. A bunch of Cardiff lads came along past us. I had to smile as one said to his mate. " You f###ing Prick! You nearlly got us arrested there. What were you thinking of man ?" I will never know what he did, should have asked I suppose.

I still think you have more than the average amount of nutters though.

Our mate from Hartlepool, always came with us into the Brentford end when they played down here, no one got the hump when he cheered their goals. He wasn't happy untill we chanted " You dirty northen bastards " at some point in the game. But when we went to see them play up north, he came into the Brentford end with us wearing his Sunderland shirt. He didn't think we would be welcome in the home stand.

Met him last year at Cherry Bar. Yep we have a few pubs here. The Griffin, is featured in the film Green Street Hooligans. The American lad Elijha Wood, had the odd pint of Pride in there between filming. :D

What a funny day. We lose at Norwich 1-0, we are not used to losing :gulp Then my chum texts me from the game to say Sam Hammam has sold the club to Milan Mandaric the Portsmouth owner. Can he own 2 clubs? :D Oh well, lets wait and see :chogdee

Live from Norwich? It's the sale of the century!

Word is that Ridsdale has paid £10m & is new chairman.

Out of the frying pan......

He paid £10m for a club £30m in debt, sounds like a bargin. :banghead

No, Sprake used to dive over the top of the ball :D

I always liked the one when he just threw the ball into his own net ! :D ..... But on his best days...

Makes you wonder tho', in retrospect, as to whether there was any gambling "anomalies" going on there ? <grin

Wales on Sunday

CARDIFF CITY will see their multi-million pound debts wiped out by the

consortium which is set to complete a takeover of the club, Wales on Sunday

can exclusively reveal.

Owner Sam Hammam has agreed to sell his majority shareholding in the

Championship leaders and will be officially replaced as chairman within the

next 48 hours by his deputy Peter Ridsdale. The surprise news came as a

shock to fans yesterday but the details of the deal were discussed and

agreed at a board meeting on Friday.

Under the terms of the takeover, Hammam will step aside to be replaced by

the man he brought to the club as a consultant in February last year.

The shock move is part of a massive financial restructuring of the club

which will see half of City's £24m debt cleared immediately with the rest

being paid off within the next 12 months.

Ridsdale's elevation to take control of the club will also see manager Dave

Jones receive several million pounds to strengthen his promotion chasing

squad in the January transfer window.

The decision should also see City finally receive the green light to begin

work on the proposed £30m stadium at Leckwith after years of setbacks.

City currently sit three points clear at the top of the Championship and

with money to spend for the first time Jones will fancy his chances of

getting the side promoted to the Premiership.

Hammam accepted an honourary position as club president at the board meeting

last week having agreed to give up control of the club he purchased six

years ago.

He originally recruited Ridsdale last year to help solve City's crippling

£30m debts.

Since then the former Leeds chairman has become the driving force behind

plans for the Bluebirds' new stadium and the overhaul of the club's finances

to enable the club to function on a day-to-day basis.

Both Hammam and Ridsdale sat together in the directors box at Carrow Road

yesterday to watch City's 1-0 defeat to Norwich.

Hammam left the ground immediately afterwards without making comment while

Ridsdale was also unavailable when contacted last night.

Team boss Dave Jones admitted he was in the dark over any potential

boardroom changes but added that he did not believe it would adversely

affect his players.

Lebanese millionaire Hammam was one of the most flamboyant figures in

football when arrived at the then struggling club in 2000.

Since then he has overseen two promotions and gives up control with City

having made their best ever start to a league campaign.

But the lowest point of his reign came two seasons ago.

City were approximately £30m in the red and were forced to sell captain

Graham Kavanagh along with star players such as Danny Gabbidon.

I know it is a bit late but I have been on holidays and away from the net.

OK slightly off topic but 1 point I would like to bring up is that I go for the mighty WEST COAST EAGLES who slaughtered Sydney Swans in the 2006 AFL grand final.

Sorry had to put this in.

You Swannies don't get to upset, too bad Bazza didn't kick anything for you this year.

:grin-jump :grin-jump
