I used to use EVA all the time from Hawaii to Bangkok - Here is their web site -

http://www.evaair.com/html/b2c/english/

You van join on line and check to see if they credit your miles there.

It takes a load of miles to get any freebies, but if you make 2 trips (You did not say where you are), you can get upgraded to their club. I find that this is a nice perc, as their Lounge in Taipei is nice with free food and booze, and is very comfertable. You also can use the Business Class check in. They also used to leave late at night, which arrived in Bangkok about noon, which is far superior than the usual midnight arrivials.

I don't use them anymore because EVA stopped flying to Hawaii!

EVA's site does not have an option to display miles

Actually there is a way. If you register on line and then log on, you can look at your actual miles.

Is EVA still rewarding miles at 100% of the miles flown, or have they lowered it to giving only 80% of actual miles traveled?

Just curious, since China Airlines adopted this policy in June for lower priced economy class tickets, such as those purchased over the net.

If you bought your tickets on-line, you had to join the "Evergreen Club". You need to log in at the EVA website and you can see all the info about getting miles redeemed and the number needed (20K for west coast to Taipei). If you buy Evergreen Delux class you get 125% of the miles, and more if in business class. The Tiapei lounge is good w/ free food and drinks, including beer and booze. There is also a shower available to use, but I haven't tried it yet.

I hope that you Eva air frequent fliers are not nervous fliers

I should be more worried than most as I am on BR068 on Wednesday.

On another forum I read about an Air safety notice for 777s using the GE90-115 engines, yes Eva same same.

If an aircraft takes off not using max power(which is the norm) then the software can cause engine roll back or something meaning that an engine can lose power just as it takes off, it may not get off the ground or not clear high buildings etc.

The directive instructs all 777 GE90-115 fitted aircraft that they must use max power on take off, this is probably good fun on the BKK-TPE leg if the aircraft is lightly loaded.

If BR068 finishes up in the cabbage patch at the end of LHRs runway, remember where you read it first.

I think EVA is a northwest/klm partner, and their airmile scheme is as follows:

You get actual mileage from your destination to LOS. You will get 18K miles rt from most Midwest or East Coast american cities. Once you have flown 25K miles in the previous year, you are silver elite, that means among other things, you get a 50% mileage upgrade. Once you have flown 50K miles in the previous year, you are gold elite, you get a 100% mileage upgrade at that point, and if you fly 75K miles or more in a previous year, you platinum elite, and get a 125% mileage upgrade. There are other benefits to being an elite member, mainly free first class upgrades on all flights in the continental us, south or central america, or the carribean. But you just have to make sure that your member number is registered with the ticket agent before you fly. It is almost impossible to make a flight, and then join and get mileage, join before you fly. belatico

I am a member of Eva's FF club, and I do not remember anywhere on their web site saying that they are affiliated with NWA.
