At the moment it is cheaper to take a layover at TPE as opposed to using another airline, flying non-stop into BKK. That's what I do. I get access to the Evergreen Lounge in Chiang Kai Shek (which now has a new name). As soon as the price is comparable, I'll think seriously about going non-stop. I can usually sleep with the help of a few Tylenol PM tablets, so the flight doesn't seem too long anyway.

There is nothing so overated as a bad blowjob and nothing so underated as a good shit!!

So I always go for a flight with a couple of hours stop over to have a good relaxing crap in a shitter with room. This is then followed by a good shower ( I always fly business) and a few free half pints of port on ice!!!

same same, fly business, get a shower, grab some food, head to the bar( most lounges are non-smoking) and relax for a couple of hrs, great break from the flight.

No ............. unless they are taking one of the stopover packages and exiting the airport.

Thanks Tom.

My GF won't mind the stop over traveling with others, who have done it before. They are coming over in April. It will save a few bob on the direct price.

Direct. My last trip was my first and I flew EVAAIR from LAX to Singapore to BKK. That first leg was terrible. Most of the people in the plane would have felt just as comfortable in a cargo container drifting along the Pacific for months. <huh

The Thaiair JFK to BKK direct is the best option for me. I would rather suck it up and get it over with. I get to the airport early and try for an upgrade (never got a free one..yet), or at the very least get a good seat. Also, they run deals on upgrades to premium economy, never took one of those either because I have always gotten a bulkhead or exit row seat (so far).

I did recently fly ANA business class w/ a stop in Narita and that was the best flight ever, but it won't happen again till I get another 90,000 miles saved up :D

Worse flight ever was British Airways, JFK - stop - stop - BKK. FUCKERS. I paid for a one stop flight through london that got me into BKK in the afternoon. Ended up losing a day and they would do NOTHING for me! The BA flight cost me $1300. If I wanted the other shit flight I could have purchased it for $900. FUCKERS promised me an upgrade on my return flight and then acted like I they never heard of me before. Fucker in NY lied again when I got home and talked to him face to face. UNFUCKINGREAL! NEVER FLY BA!

Anytime I fly to Asia, my preference will always be a direct flight if possible. Second will be the shortest (one stop only) layover possible.

The best part of any flight is when the tires touch the ground of your destination~!!!

Now for layovers from SFO, my preferences will be Honk Kong over Tokyo. But Tokyo over Taipei anyday.

If you fly business/first or have lounge access due to status then the layover is a good idea. Take a shower and relax in the lounge. NRT has day rooms you can rent by the hour. There's a shower and a bed.

I have only flown Coach China Airlines out of San Francisco. It seemed to get me there the quickest leaving around 1:00AM and arriving BKK around noon with a 1.5 hr layover in Tapei. Cheap Charley here, difference in Business and Coach added up to a few more BF's. Always able to get a exit door seat not next to the window on a 747.
