prince hotel has been baught but mike shopping company so the entertaint are next to it will probably be going because that is part of the land. mike company cut the power to that entertainment part 1 night over a battle in court.

You can get a good view of the Prince Hotel complex from the Sunhine Residence Hotel and The Prince Hotel is a nice looking building with a large, but empty, swimming pool. I've often wonder why it was never (?) used or if it was, why was it allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair? I noticed the lobby was open, but I never saw anyone in the hotel.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in Thailand...About 4 years ago, when I was living in BKK, we travelled to Patts for NYE but didn't book in advance and ended up having to stay there. What an absolute fucking shithole my worst trip ever.

 

 

But more concern for Cherry bar and Hammer....hope we are not lking at another Suk 10 scenario

They could keep the bars there but under a different lease arrangement. The Mike's group also invest in hotels so they might just fix up that old hotel. It wouldn't make much sense to put in a shopping mall as a huge new mall is going in on soi 9, but stranger thinks have happened.

20 thai men went to entertainment area in prince hotel and smashed a bar up, owner did not press charges when police arrested them. Police believe it is to do with the court issue.

I took a short time room at the Prince Hotel a few years back. And it was ok for just that. I wouldnt stay there longer than a few hours.

According to the bar owners below the prince and opposite demolition is due to start 28th April but being Thailand what year is probably the point in question !

 

Couple of the bars below were having a daytime firesale of stock last week so obviously they are all shutting imminently.

Are you saying that barowners below the Prince have told you they are going to be demolished or is it just rumour ? Quite an important difference to some here.

The Prince hotel and overall site is being redeveloped and this has been common knowledge for sometime.

However as always with Thailand rumours abound re start dates etc but as I had an interest in if/when it was to start I have known for sometime that April 28th was commencement day.

 

The bars underneath the Prince must be aware of it, as prieviously mentioned two bars were selling off beer wholesale, at firesale prices last week during the day.

 

Remember what happened in Bangkok a few years ago when the bulldozers rampaged through the bar area near Soi Cowboy (if I remember correctly) destroying Stereo systems, girls property etc overnight.

Renovation works have begun in the lobby of the hotel. Dunno what they've got in mind, but what a great location for a good ST hotel!

 

The bar next to Adams has gone (yes, the one with the music!!! ) across the road somewhere. They've used that part of the complex to access the building site.

 

All other bars trading as normal at the moment.
