My flight gets into Thailand at 12:00 midnight. After 20+ hours of flying from the US I don't feel like negotiating with the taxi drivers. Can anyone recommend a reliable transportation service to Pattaya?

I've used a Pattaya based service for my past 24+ trips and have never had a problem even when my flight arrived 3 hours late at 3 AM. Cost is 1000 baht + tolls (60 baht) + parking (30 baht). If your interested I've posted contact info in the Cost Sharing area.

i have him booked again for the 26th may.

mr toom has a fat thread in the meeting cost sharing section of the forum, lots of people use him.

He's been real good with delivering my customers from the airport to View Talay. His drivers always call me when they get close to Pattaya to let me know they are close. Customers always seem happy with him and the price so I keep giving him my business.

Since the new airport opened I used the airport Limo service regularly. You would enter the arrivals hall book a limo and have a nice sit down in a courtesy seating lounge area with a drink whilst the car was brought round and you were then escorted a matter of yards to the car.The cost of this extra ""Luxury" was worth it if you could afford it. :D

- The seating area has now gone. :puke

- The car is further away.

- They are now manned by people that are worse than the touts outside the arrival hall. :D :D

- Prices are now extortionate such that, although I can afford it, it is NOT worth it. :D

I have used Mr Toom for day trips into BKK and was very pleased with the service. :D

A thing like "reliable pick up" on the airport does not exist. The driver can be late, or not be there at all, or bored in case your plane is late, or, regularly, your name is written wrong on the sign he's holding, or you go the wrong of two ways after you pass customs, you miss him and you are pissed. No refund. Last time I met 'my' driver at the airport he was late half an hour, it's not funny to walk around with a helpless face and fight back the whole rat pack of airport based taxi entrepreneurs. Found him some fifty meters from the point he was supposed to be, flirting with some girl. No tip. :clueless

Better to walk up to the arrival hall and charter a cab that just discharged some passengers flying out, the are happy to get paid for the way back to Pattaya. There isn't must to discuss about the fare, don't pay more than 1,000 plus the road toll of 60 Baht.

I think you have to be really horny for this, but good on you after a long flight and all :allright . Just get along to departures, there will be no end of young ladies seeing off their hansum boyfriends. They will be looking for their next victim :drunk . In all seriousness if you have got the front to do it, a lot of those TG's will be heading bck to P, so you could kill two birds...

Check out this link. This Taxi and Limo service also has a web site and is a friend of mine. He also does the Mini Bus for Adam (Hammer) FLB bar crawls to Bang Chang.

I'll keep them in mind as my normal driver Jan has a baby on the way and I'm not sure when she will be back driving again!

Mr. Toom, Mr. X, Limo service .... why all this hassle? Jump in the first available taxi and avoid searching the driver, waiting for the limo to come, waiting for this or that ... Prices negotiable around 1,200 BHT. :banana

For me, and most likely others here, it's about service and loyalty to those that have served me well in the past. :gulp I'm sure that you have favorite places you like to stay in, restaurant you like to eat at, bars you like to go to and you shop at places that have provide good service to you. :gulp I like having a familiar face to greet me at the airport and drive me to where ever I need to go and maybe chat about things that have happen while I've been gone! :D If it was all about cost I can go down to the arrival area down stairs at the airport and get a taxi to Pattaya there for about 800 bahts +/- tolls depending upon what we settle on. :D But that's me! Everyone has their own opinion on how we do things and that's what I do. :banana

I've used a Pattaya based service close to 30 times and they have always been waiting for me, even the time I arrived at BKK at 3 AM over 3 hours late due to problems with the aircraft in Narita. One thing that I always do is send an email just before I leave my home in the states.

Whenever I fly into Thailand, I always just use the taxi service at the airport. I can get them down to 1,800 baht for the trip. I know it is 600 baht more than Toom, but the extra money for me is well worth not having to worry about his driver showing up or not.

If there is one thing you can count on at the airport, it's that there will always be plenty of taxi's wanting your business.
