Best transport option BKK-Pattaya

Recommended Posts

There is a direct bus from the airport to Pattaya, cost is either 150 or 200. I don't use it because of my arrival/departure times. I use a Pattaya based car service that costs 1000 baht plus tolls (60 baht).

Quoted :August 2007, 9.27pm.

I always walk down to arrivels levels where the 'official' taxis are. Turn left & go to the bus farthest away on the same pathway. This is the free shuttle bus for airport employees which anyone can use & drops you

off at the new airport bus station. Here you will find your Pattaya bus which will cost you 110bht, took me about 1 3/4 hours in June.

One word of advice guys: Try not to get the two seats direclty by the toilet door. Can be a bit rancid, to say the least. The lady on the bus will always move locals to put Farrangs there?!

Hope this is of help. Bluntman :clap2

Having taken the bus airport > Pattaya in June I can confirm that Bluntman's advice is accurate. But I have no idea about the timetable. My flight landed at 7.20 am and I was at the bus station at about 8.30. My bus left at just after 9.00 am and took about 2 hours to Pty.

One not so good feature was that the bus did not use the Pattaya Bus Station, but just drew up on Sukumvit Road. This left me with a dangerous crossing of this fast 6 lane highway towing my bag behind me to get a baht bus on Central Road to Soi 2.

However airport > hotel Soi 2 - about 2.25 hours, total cost 130 baht !. Not bad eh ?.

Used Bell Bus service from Bangkok new airport to Pattaya on last Staurday. My flight arrived at the aiport 13.25 took about 35 min to clear the custom. Afterwhich walked one level down to the bus terminal gate/door 7 to catch the Bell bus at 14.05 directly to Pattaya at only 150 bath. One you arrived at the transport floor, you can see many buses waiting there and you just go to gate 7 to look for BELL bus.

I telephoned them one day before to make the booking and they confirmed my booking and promised to wait for me till 14.20 (as the schedule time is 14.00). The BELL bus will bring you to the North Pattaya bus terminal and they will transfer you to a mini bus and bring you to you hotel. The entire journey is only 2 hours, not much different from taking a taxi.

The schedule from the new airport to Pattaya:

8,10,12,14,16,18:00 they pick you up at Level one, door 7, a lady is waiting there.

You can make reservation : tel: 0274746, 089-4498843

What's their luggage arrangement? I'm going to have a two fairly big bags - don't ask why the hell, I have to and can't go into that now. If that isn't going to be problem I'll try them.

From the airport to the bus station at North Pattaya I think you should not have any problem, they will carry your luggage and place them into their luggage compartment. From the bus station to your hotel, I am not sure whether your lugguage is too big for their mini van if there are too many passengers. If this is the case, you just pay 100 to 150 bath the TUK TUK will bring them to your hotel. (there are alsways many TUK TUK wiating at the bus station)

Bell bus service staff speak good English I suggest that you call them directly to confirm.

Two things,

to see more info on this forum its best to join in fully, follow this link

the other point is that typing all in capitals is seen on the internet as SHOUTING and its not good form

so maybe you would prefer to type in lower case.

cheers

SKINBAD,

If needed, here are a couple of other van options:

I used PJ’s three or four times in the past. Service overall was quite good, only complaint was a bad shock absorber between Pats and BKK on one of the trips.

Mr Ao’s pickup svcs looks interesting but I haven’t tried them yet.

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks for the info. I did email them but they didn't reply. I'll ring them for the reservation and confirmation about the bags.
