and also to give credit where credit was due.

Someone else took the trouble to take the pictures and write a review, so I was making clear where I found them.

As I don't think that I am allowed to link to other forums, the best I could do was mention that it was not I that deserved the credit for the pictures.

That's a strange post there btm1735. :D

Apart from anything else, I have never come across an aggressive Arab(from an Arab state) in Pattaya, or even seen one particularly drunk.

Can't say the same for Caucasians(English, Russians, Scandinavians......) or the French Algerian/Moroccans. It's possibly those you have come across.

Take a look through the local news outlets, can you find a single violent incident involving an Arab?

I'm not sure why you even thought to mention Arabs.

I'll repeat... So if you're a racist ...., stay away.

You started the racism bit. I don't need to check the local news, can speak from experience.

1.) in Pattaya I ran into one with a door, half my fault, half his. I was behind him, he entered the bar and stopped in the path of the door, I wasn't paying attention entered using more force than necessary for the weight of the door. The door hit him. I was all "sorry" etc... He started into me, at which point my 4'10" bg lit into him. I actually probably saved him by pulling my bg away to another bar.

2.) had an aggressive one try to take the bg I was with. I don't own anybody so up the girl. I let girl and her friends handle him and we left before he could bring back friends.

You are right, they may not have been strictly Arabs. Could have been Persians or some other group. Just like the real world most are good guys there for the same things I am, but a few have a chip on their shoulder regarding Americans in particular. I am sure they experience the same in reverse.

Just saying I wouldn't want to stay in place that catered to them because you would be more likely to come across the bad apple and it is harder and more of a pain to move your hotel than it is to move on to another bar. Thats all. If that makes me a racist then you are painfully pc.

Slowly losing your credibility....sounds as if you are the one with the chip on your shoulder against Arabs. As if Arab types are the only types with whom you have ever had a confrontation.

Just give it a rest.

You're welcome not to stay there. :)

Stopped in a week or so ago and the place looked pretty nice, and I'm almost positive they had a pool table downstairs that's not seen in the posted photos. Room I looked at was decent sized, very nice condition, and they had security cameras in the hallway which impressed me. Only reason I didn't book there was because they only had a room avaliable with 2 single beds.

Have just been to see it and agree that it's nice and very cheap, DOES have a pool table. Rooms are huge and very clean, 5th floor has twin beds, the rest have king size (some are two singles with one king size mattress across them. In fact it actually looks just like its website (bit of a shock there. :drunk).

A few big minuses for me though;

---- The rooms in the front look 20' across the Soi at other windows, the rooms on the sides look 6-8' at a brick wall. I'd have to keep my curtains shut all the time I was in the room.

---- There is a ledge that runs round each floor which would provide a burglar with ideal access to the rooms - it even has a guard rail in case he might fall off. :D

---- It's FULL of Arabs, in fact one receptionist made a point of telling me "many, many Arab stay here", she told me twice - presumably in case I'd missed the hordes lounging in the lobby. Given the noise they were making mid afternoon, nights could be a problem.

For me it's a no. So nearly ideal, but no.

Just so you know - the word/logo in the pics is Al-Qaanuun, which means "the law" and that looks like a gavel next to it so if you don't like (Arabic-speaking) lawyers that's another good reason not to stay there....

I might though...

Fools rush in.....

I stayed at the Sunview last year, which you also mentioned.

Also popular with the Middle Eastern clientele. And yes I had a problem with them. I've never had a problem walking down soi Arab, nor in Bkk, but I did in that hotel. Because the ones in the rooms either side of me were fucking LOUD.

Now to be fair, I've had the same experience with Brits at the Haven, to the extent that I won't stay there again either.

Just depends on the layout of the place and bad timing, I guess.

Sunview?? :gulp I don't think that it was me who mentioned it.

Didn't know that Middle Easterners(other than Israelis) frequented Soi Bua Khao..

You were the first person to mention Arabs and racism.

From your opening post...........

Pulled this off an Arabic website. So if you're a racist fool, stay away.

I'm glad you did mention them because that's enough reason for me not to stay there.

Deciding not to stay at a hotel because people of a particular race are known to frequent that hotel is totally reprehensible and wholly inexcusable.

Actually it's not really.

I can choose to be a racist or not.....up to me.

Certain races, including whitey, are at times, obnoxious, and I don't care to be around them when in that state of mind.

Decent, polite, courteous, reasonably sanitary.......those are the key criteria that I appreciate, rather than a robe, head adornment or skin pigment.

As far as "Arabs" go, just look at many hotel websites and you will see the disclaimer: "NO middle east, Arab, Indian, Pakistan allowed"

In order to keep this "racist" free......I won't even go there as to why some of these hotels do not allow that certain type.

Just use your "nose" and you will sniff it out!!!!

Absolute crap! His money/his choice, and I would hazard a guess many more members here, including myself! I do not travel halfway around the world to be surrounded by persons who do not share my HIGH values, and are inclined to speak to each other in "Tongues" in my presence!

Finally I do not like to share my ladies with upwards of 4 others that share the room! <grin :ahhgg:

P.S. What's the weather like on YOUR planet!
