Great new Hotpot restaurant (the avenues)

Recommended Posts

Went to the new Shabu Ichi Restaurant at the Avenues... 3rd floor above Shenanigans.

It's an all you can eat hotpot style restaurant with a difference... Instead of a communal pot where cooking is shared... Each placement has an individual little pot for cooking...

It is fantastic!! I love the place and wish there was one back home... I really don't see how they can stay in business given their set price and knowing the rents in the Avenues (huge bhat)...

... so enjoy it while it lasts...

They have huge (properly chilled) selection of items (mushrooms, fishballs, veg's, noodles, etc) for your hotpot... and a refrigerated selection of precut meats (pork, beef, fish, shrimp, squid, etc).

There's a self serve drink fountain, and a small selection of sushi and perpared foods (fried rice, fried shimp, fried hotdogs, and some other thai dishes)...

So if you like hotpot style, this is the place for you...

otherwise, McDonalds is down stairs... :nod

What does it cost? What are their prices like?

I paid 245.03 pp... They sell beer too, but as I was there on a dry night... they were not selling...

btw2: they have a lower price for lunch, but I don't know what it is...

I couldn't get the soup to flavor properly. No matter what I put in it it still tasted bland. Contrast that with the broth at MK - I'm not really a fan of either but if given a choice it would have to be MK.

Looks great and the price is right. 245 doesn't sound too much at all.

A few trips ago Beam & I ate up 800+ bhat worth of hot pot on the top floor of the royal, lol...and I didn't eat the most :devil

Good times, great memories.

Tom,

Took the TGF and met up with the Soi dog, his wife and her son and another couple last week. My GF liked it so much ( I did too) that just the 2 of us went back the night before I retuned back home. :sorry The prepared dishes changed some the 2nd time so it appears they might rotate those by the day of the week. My only suggestion would be to label those different meat items.
