had thoughts about not posting as does not really fit in with lots of threads about nailing as much ass as you can in a week but for the benefit of those who know me and anyone else who's interested.

to announce the arrival of baby hybrid at 8:05 am this morning 28th may 08

after a wopping 27 hours of labour pains and a quite a comedy with the hospital a little baby boy weighed in at 3.95kg this morning by natural birth

when i get a bit of time later in the week i can add to the thread if anyone wants the fun bits of village (hospital but not a main one) childbirth

to include .

estimated size 2.5kg when checked at midday on the 27th may

no ultrasound machines

no fetal heart monitors

NO pain relief wahtsover available

no fetal heart monitor equipment during the birth

no ability to do a c-section when it was finaly realised they were wrong about the size of the little bugger as the big hospital was 40km's away, litteraly tearing tilak a new asshole rofl !!

the reality of the thai familys input and in fact the village

and lots more :thumbup

off for a nap, i'm totaly wrecked

[edit, removed choose the name compo]

Congratulations, sounds like getting your kid born was hard work. Good thing your wife was along to help you out.

When we did our names we had a couple of things in mind. Make sure that the Thai name doesn't sound funny in English - and vice versa. For two of ours, we took an English first name, Thai middle name so they could be called either one in either language. Lots of Thais these days use a Western name, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Here is your good-news factoid of the day:

When you go to the amphur office to get your boy's Thai nationality, a 10-minute job, at that exact moment, your family name becomes a "Thai name". People over 18 who are naturalised Thais must take an officially approved name, but kids don't - can't in fact.

Again, congrats.

WOW! Congrats!

Just picked up on this topic, Daddy!

Guess it is way too late to submit a name, but it is obvious to me the perfect one would have been Willie! I'm sure you get my drift! <grin Now I understand why you were up country.

Give my best to your lovely wife! I'm glad that all turned out well.
