Not with a take-out only counter/window that sells mainly fish and chips wrapped in "newspaper". Then again I don't live there so maybe I missed those.

Ah Fish and Chips! Can't get them in France at all!!!!!! (Why did I move here?)

Simon's (on the right at beginning of Jomtien coming from Pattaya) is indeed excellent but the Pig and Whistle's (soi 7) really got me this last trip - I know it's sit down but they were TOP NOTCH.

Agree that a good quality takeaway eat-in-street would work.... no qualms in LOS about eating in the street....

I'm not comparing them. I don't think you could possibly compare them. I'm suggesting why a transplanted bar featuring working girls from Liverpool might not be successful on Walking Street.

Sitting around in a tiny, greasy shop sided by a seafood palace and a seafood buffet, across the street from the barbecued fish stall, part of the seafood smorgasbord serving 22,000 tourists and Thais, waiting for the two Englishmen who each evening develop a jones for newspaper-wrapped fish and heavy chips, is unlikely to be super-profitable. I wonder if you would make enough to afford the vinegar delivery.

IMNSHO that is.

And I *like* fish and chips, and I'm glad it's available in some very good Pattaya restaurants for the tiny few farang who want it.

Is there anywhere you DIDN'T eat?

Or anything?

If there is a place in Pattaya that prepares this, then all they have to do is get with Bobby from WOW (waiter on wheels)and have him add it to his list of establishments. Then you wouldn't even have to go to the place for the take out, just phone up or order on line.

Check out the fish chip at the Tequila Reef. They use different spices and IMHO very tasty.

Or anything? :allright

Hi Paps (glad you didn't call me twat - but there's still time for that I suppose - fat twat even :allright, fat stupid twat also might spring to mind.)

Used to be a restaurant critic in Saudi Arabia (you'd be surprised.....) so food is a hobby..... plenty of eating places still to visit in Pattaya.... shied off the monster bugs... but ate everything else.

Mrs Cap has day off and fresh oysters with shallot vinegar and grilled octopus skewers on the barbie for lunch today so I'm off back home from the office for that now. Nice chilled white wine at 1 euro a litre from the Cave Cooperative and naked women walking past - no lessons this afternoon so just chill - fcuk me, NOW I remember why I moved to France.
