Always stayed J&P Court but fancy a change heres what i've got so far,all prices for July.

 

Nova Park On site it says 25k e mail received from Hotel says 45k waiting for answer to this from hotel.

 

Duannaming Hotel 19500k pool view room.Looks aces but out close to Hospital end of Boikow.

 

Pattaya Bay Resort 14900k. Small pool.

 

Baywalk Residence. 30000k. Looks great but i like my peace and quiet so maybe a bit too close to W/S for me.Good discount though.

 

Maxx central apartments. Waiting to hear from these online says 14900k plus amenieties.Looks good.

 

Flipper Lodge. Building A renovated superior room sea view,internet 1500k a night.Waiting to see if they will do a monthly rate.

 

Palm Garden Soi 2. Pool is huge no pictures of room ( anyone ? ),waiting for monthly rate if any.

Good luck finding one that compares with J&P.I spent 8 mnths there in 2007,love the location,rooms are adequate and the staff very friendly and helpful.Also very honest i remember a guy lost his wallet with 50K Baht in it,the cleaner handed it in fully intact.

Don't think much of any of those prices for low season, would swerve all of them, 1500 for Flipper Lodge-WTF!

Probably seen you then mate been going there for 6 years twice a year.

Like you said nothing wrong with the place just fancy the change.They've built on the waste ground at the side so theres bound to be more foot traffic round there.You only get the sun from 10 till 4 by the pool thats a bit of a downer.I always have the same room there pool view for 23k ish high 20k low.I'm thinking for that i might as well have a look around.

Also i'm a polite soul and always treat the girls as ladies so they all know me on Soi Lenke and theres one i alway have for the majority of my stay.It upsets me a bit bringing girls back to the Hotel in plain view of her and her friends.I'd rather not have the guilt but thats me,horses for courses eh!

Agreed the prices seem too much,not going to book any unless i get a total bargain,so going to just turn up at the door.

I think in july they won't turn down a month long rental.

You know any of the places 1st hand ? the one on soi 2 looks interesting.

Flipper Lodge have said for low season it's 20% off but the Pool is closed.WOW so generous.

Poor location for a holiday stay - 150 m. E. of 3rd Road down Soi 14 which is potentially dangerous at night - pool has yet to be built.

Why not just rent a condo ?

 

You can get some cracking deals at the moment.

 

As for hotels, I'd be looking at somewhere around 15x their daily rate for the month.

I take your point especially if you are being ripped off on the electric for 2 or 3 times the true cost. Cleaning is usually extra as well and if you book the condo cleaners it is a right royal rip off for sure. However there are ways to reduce those costs.

 

Speak to the cleaning ladies and you can usually come to an arrangement.

 

The upsides are that you can get a great pool or pools, relaxation away from the silliness of the town centre and you are your own boss so to speak. Often more room, better facilities and the ability to have a night in an not feel like you are cooped up in a bedsit.

 

Likely extras are 2k for electric, 2 or 3 hundred for water, change of sheets at about Bt100/150 a time. So probably around 5-8k a month tops. For the same room in a hotel, you'd be looking at the top end rooms and you wouldn't get those for 20/30k a month.

 

I personally think that it is one of those things which you only appreciate after you have tried it. Better for longer stays of 3 weeks and up I agree.

Right folks is the overall opinion to not book and just walk into a few places when i get there ( 1st july ) and see what they're offering?
