Would you buy your weekend cut of meat from this market in Phnom penh?

I purposely took a couple of shots in black and white.

I haven't included a written report, just pictures as i don’t doubt you’ve read no end of stories/reports on Phnom Penh.

Most about the night life of course but pictures can sometimes say just as much.

Great photos!...They are a treasure in communicating life there in Phnom Penh.....I think those black and white photos are especially

effective, and I almost got a chill thinking they were from 60/70's....Well Done!

Meat left out in the sun? No.

Vegees look great.

Daelim scooters?

Thanks for the pics!

I am, a dyed in the wool, old old Englishman, and I would follow the teachings, of my old Mother ( Bless her), from during the War, Yes buy the meat, take it, home, wash it, then soak it in Vinegar & Water, before cooking and eating - no problems.

Shitting yourself is a big problem in PP. There are regular threads on cambo forums about it. I had to visit the hospital in Pattaya when I returned from PP for antibiotics for bacteria as I was stuck in my hotel with the shits. Never shit myself thankfully, but I never realised I could still move so fast.

There was a night fish market in PP where they sat on the road with only a candle to light their "produce". Its really third world there.

There are a lot of businesses that make a living from the vast number of NGO and Charity workers in the country. I have to say that the food in some of these places was fine and on two visits the stomach behaved itself and I am not an expensive eater and try the local curries etc.

That could have been a joke - but believe me, Lazy Bobby, would never walk up the stairs! ALWAYS, jumped onto the starlift!-(Had a poodle too, but she would not use it.) I had a heart attack, in 1982, and changed my life, and no chest pains since. Royal Air Force, purchased the Stairlift, and presented it to me.- now removed, and the house is rented out.

That was a good photo, looks like it could be the 60/70's except for the mass produced plastic chairs, but the old barbers chair probably dates back per war and Pol-Pot.
