EVA Air Changing flight times

Recommended Posts

Every time EVA air changes a deptaure time or arrival time I have had them call me to notify me of said change.

Most of the time the call has been 1-2 months in advance of my leaving. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen

with EVA or any other airline??? Do most airlines call their passengers to let them know or is it just EVA?

Yes, at least at their Amsterdam - Bangkok - Taipei route.

From 30 March onwards EVA will fly from AMS at 21.40 (instead of 12.30), from Bangkok to AMS 12.30 (instead of 02.25). EVA is calling their customers to inform them and if needed to change the tickets

I had a China Airlines flight from Taipei-HKG that was cancelled. The airline didn't contact me, but my travel agent emailed me that they put me on the flight after. Luckily, there are flights almost every hour TPE-HKG and I happened to check my email that morning.

In 5 trips with EVA to Asia I have never had them change times or cancel but in Taipei they always seem to be switching gates around from my issued boarding pass at SFO or BKK. Not a big deal as it is a small airport and the change is a two minute walk max away.

Odd

I just flew Premium Laurel this trip. My first time international business class. Plusses and minuses. I cashed in frequent flyer miles. I am not convinced it is worth paying for. (Their sleeping seat reclines at an angle - is that typical?)

I always check the Eva Air website the night before flying back to London to make sure there's been no alteration to the flight. Got caught a couple of years ago when arriving at BKK airport for the flight home to find the flight had been cancelled. They very kindly put us up at the posh hotel next to the airport. A week before the flight they did send a voice mesage saying the flight had been cancelled but couldn't listen to my voice messages, just got a recorded message in Thai. Listened to it at Heathrow bus station waiting for the bus home Doh !!!. Thinking about if afterwards, it was very good of Eva to put us into a hotel for the night. They could easily have turned round and said it's not our fault you can't pick up your voice messages and you should have checked the website.
