Some technical help, please

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure whether it is co-incidence, but ever since I received an AVG update an hour or so ago, Pattayatalk is the only web-site I can access.

As much as I enjoy reading the Forum, access to email is rather more important to me, and I don't have that at the moment.

I've tried accessing about 15 of my favourites, some in the UK and some not, and this site is the only one I can get into. For all the others, I get told: "DNS error occurred. Server cannot be found".

Any suggestions, please?

Another thing to try.

Open a command prompt (can usually type "cmd" in the "run" box when you click the start button to get there) and type the following:

ipconfig /flushdns

That will clear your DNS cache and force the network to reload its DNS records on each new request... May help.

Disable AVG and try again. If it works... its a AVG problem, and should be taken up with their technical support.

I've uninstalled AVG but it is just the same

It must have been co-incidence.

No luck doing that either!

Who is your ISP, MM?

Glyn.

I don't even know where my web server is...somewhere in the USA, but ISP usually refers to a consumer connection, not a server connection.

It seems to be in your nation's capital.

.

You can't believe everything you read on the internet. :D I know it's not in D.C. It's somewhere in the midwest. They've moved it a few times. I lost track in Texas. Maybe Cedar Rapids?

Ok, I just checked. It's in someplace called Cedar Falls. Checking a bit more, that's in Iowa.
