Rudeness at Tony's Fitness

Recommended Posts

i have been a tony member for years now.....i should have got the life membership but lazilly just keep renewing. The old chap who sits at the table across from the main reception desk is always very pleasant and deals with you efficiently.

Maybe you just got the wrong person on the day.

Re:5999 i believe that is the promotion if you have been a member beforehand and not a new member. Personally i think 7999 is a great price too. (especially if, like me, you play badminton daily etc.

We have signs at all our facilities stating that if anyone has any complaints or suggestions, we want to hear them. I can personally guarantee that Tony sees every E-Mail he is sent.

Only by getting feedback from customers can we hope to improve.

Tony is seriously upset when he hears of incidents like this, he strives to provide the best service he can to his customers, it is not possible to please everyone all the time, but we will try our hardest to achieve the best compromise we can.

Please help us to improve and make Tony’s fitness group what YOU want it to be, let us know what you like or don’t like.

There are big changes coming, soon we will have 7 fitness centers in and around Pattaya.

Some of you may have noticed the recently cleared plot of land next to the third road fitness center’s cardio block; tell us what you would like it to be.

I have use Tony fitness and the hotel facilty from time to time now. I found that that the equipment is quite okay and the hotel staff can speak english well and help me when i need assistant.

I saw big signs outside Tony's Fitness offering promotion of one-year membership for 5,9999 baht yesterday, so I went it to join as I need to drop some kilos.

Inside there was nobody at the member desk to help. I was told to wait.

After 10 minutes a woman came over and asked what I wanted. I told her I wanted to see the facilities and join for one year.

She did not say one word to me (I can speak Thai fairly well). Not even a hello, nothing!

She just handed me a piece of paper to fill out - no information about the club or anything.

I filled it out and handed it to her. Again she did not say one word to me. She wrote something down in a book and then looked up at me and said, "7,999 baht." That was it, not another word. I told her that I thought there was a promotion. She said, "Are you member now?" I said that I wasn't, and she said, "Then you pay 7,999 baht."

The rudeness and lack of any assistance was enough to make me just walk out.

This is no way to treat potential customers, especially in these economic times.

Unfortunately, California Wow is still double the price so Tony's may get my money after all, but what a lousy way to start.

I ususally stay in Jomtien and commute to use Tony's Gym in Soi 16 Pattaya. Never had a problem with the staff they're always helpful. Have heard that Tony is opening a Gym in Jomtien - is this true? - if so anyone know when the Gym will open?

The brand new Jomtien fitness center is now open, with four floors of equipment, Saunas, Steam rooms and Jacuzzis

As you come into Jomtien down the hill from Pattaya you come to the Hanuman statue and 7/11, carry straight on here on the unmade road, it turns to the left by 'Ace cafe'. The fitness center is just along there on the left at the next corner.

I'm so pleased to finally have a branch in Jomtien. I tried it out today. Love it. Well done. I especially love how the top floor is all sauna, hot pool, and cold pool.

Anyone know if Tony's Jomtien location is still open? If it is reflected on Tony's web site, it is extremely well hidden.

I can now answer my own question. It is still open. It's within very easy walking distance of View Talay 2. Beyond that:

1. Yes, it has four floors, but they are small floors;

2. I got a 3 month membership, which will serve my purposes for some weird amount like 3,790 baht--not cheap;

3. It's air conditioned--kind-of--but they sell bottled water;

4. They have toilets and showers but I would not plan on changing there unless I had to--I don't have to;

5. Most of the tread-mills have displays in mph and the dumb bells are marked in pounds. Great for me. The one treadmill with a display in kph [Ed. Err, more likely I botched the conversion];

6. Very few free weights if that is a concern;

7. The road immediately in front is paved.

It suits my purposes and the location is right. Won't make any claims beyond that.

Also worth noting... tomorrow, Jan 16,2013, there is a one day sale on discounted lifetime memberships for 15,000 baht that is good at all of the Tony Gyms. They run this one day special every July but for whatever reason it's on for tomorrow. Might be worth the price for an expat.

On the Jomtien Gym... hours are 5am till midnight, they don't supply locks for the lockers, and I think that there is a towel fee.

- I ask this guy to make a shake 80 bath for me at Tony's Gym Pattaya (soi buakhao). He take half of the shake, so i ask him why i not get my whole shake? He say u only get 1 small glass that's enough, but i paid for the 1 plastic bag!

- He even put my fee 90bath for training straight away in his own jeans and don't give me the ticket. Everything for his own pocket. So corrupt and bad for customer and company. Better he ask the owner more salary and this is already the second time in 1 week i come train.

I never write on a blog or forum but i will announce this for everyone!!!!

A very upset customer!!
