Gonzo - Your fault for giving Rolf a passport!!!!! :gulp

Didn't know that guy was an MP now. They had some great songs. Australia has some fantastic bands. I remember you had a mate from the Gorbals in Glasgow. Here's a good band for you. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Alex is from the Gorbals.

Thanks for that great Alex Harvey video. A lot of Aussies are of Scot descent. My mate from the Gorbals, Jock (James) and I took redundancy from the shipping industry at the same time. Jock was one of the best toilers and tough guys I have ever met. He is now trying to do his best to drink himself to death in the Philippines.

Some might think this is a rape of one traditional xmas song, but i think it is just great and different version.

I wish the lyrics would be in english though.

This a fantastic and much improved version of an old Christmas song. There is absolutely no need to have it performed in English. It would probably not sound as good, if it was sung in another language than Finnish. :banghead

One for you Gonzo

Berettakid, You are a sadist. Don't ever come within sight of my over and under Browning shotgun. :banghead

Her main group is The Pretenders. She only did one song with Moodswings that I am aware of. It is a cover of a Jon (Jon Anderson of Yes) and Vangelis song:

Here is one of my favorites from The Pretenders:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gog3rSSa9yY

Moodswings did a song on the same album where they put Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech to music. Very powerful!

Sorry, I don't know how to embed the links like others have here but I think you will all like the music.

BTW, Jon and Vangelis did this song which all of us old timers who were fans of Bogart and the Maltese Falcon and other such movies of the day might enjoy. It is called "The Friends of Mr. Cairo":

Enjoy!

Easiest way to do it is:

use []'s at start, write youtube inside, copy youtube code http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v8Wden1LFs the bold part and finish it with [/] with youtube inside after /

From that Bill Murray film. Lost In Translation..

I would sure like to suck on her tits. I would happily make her my woman forever. Fat chance. :whistling:

This guy was, and still is, one of my favourites. First saw him in the "Royal Park" pub in Leeds in late 70's or early 80's

John Otway, "Geneva"

John Otway, "Josephine"

Not many songs give me a real belly laugh.

This one never fails.

John Otway, "House of the Rising Sun" With the odd heckler. Filmed in a folk club in Canada.

Hope you enjoy.

The thing about that song on youtube, is that every few months/ weeks there's new young amateur birds dancing to it and some are racier than others. The racier ones get deleted quick :D

Aussie, English and Scottish collaberation. On topic as they done a show in Long Gun in Soi Cowboy to the song that was mesmerising. Just in the beauty of the birds, their clobber and dance routine. No nudity. Just inexplicably hypnotic. I saw it many times. Happy days :D

First time I heard this guy the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

Heard him first on Radio One. Then went over to York Uni to see him.

Linton Kwesi Jhonson. "Reggae Fi Peach"

Linton Kwesi Johnson. "Sonnys Lettah"

Hope you enjoy.

I dig music that makes most people very uneasy:

Control (power electronics):

Navicon Torture Technologies (power electronics):

1349 (black metal):

Scorn (dubstep):

Krisiun (death metal):

Another folk Icon, IMHO.

Eric Bogle. "Now I'm Easy"

Eric Bogle, "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda"

eric Bogle, "No Mans Land' "The Green Fields of France"

After three sad songs here is a funny one to hopefully lighten your heart.

Eric Bogle. "Silly slang song"

Jeez I could post on this thread all day!

It is easy on this board, buddy.

Select your song and play it on You Tube and embed.

Then go and copy and minimize it.

Go back to Pattayatalk and paste your song into your message.

Scroll down until you find HTML off on the left side on the bottom.

Change from HTML Off to HTML Line Break

Paste your song.

That should explain it to a dumb Yank, despite both of us having German mothers. :thumbup

This totally blind guy comes from a well respected family from the Gove peninsula in the NT. He is very shy and has to be dragged before an audience to perform. I have met some of his family. Thank you for bringing him to the attention on this board.
