Where is that? have seen a few who consider them "senior" attack new guys and be offensive, but like most bullies they soon wise up when you push back, IRL its better as thy trot out "its only the internet" what puzzles me is why they do it, as more differing views and inputs makes a forum richer IMHO.

 

I can only imagine their lack of self esteem leads then to do it ? I dont know there will be 2 to 4 as a rule using words like "we all" as if they have a divine right.

This is totally correct.The first research has been completed into forum sites recently.I wish I could find the article so i could quote it.The main sites used were trip advisor and facebook and 2 other "localised" forum sites. Not named. Results showed a propensity to "gang up " on newbies and anyone disagreeing with the concensus.

 

It also showed forums were often dominated by a "group " of main contributors who kept things going with others drifting in and out. Research concluded that "survival" in a forum was contingent on being aligned with the main "group".

 

It noted that forums had grown immensly in popularity in the last 2 years or so but reserved judgement on the longevity of forums.

They did not come any better than Noel Thomas. I am not Grazel. I used to post on Bahtbus using my real name. There are no initiation ceremonies to be a member of our clan. As long you are a decent guy, you can join the family, if can spare a few baht to help the HIV infected kids at Rayong. Ever heard of Father Giovanni Contarion?
