I took the trip a couple of days ago so...

Both Bell and the Pattaya-Suvarnabhumi bus service (stops at ViewTalay 1) have web sites, so look them uo. The second service above does not go to Bangkok - only the airport. Bell does, but requires advance reservation and is expensive, not worth it in my opinion.

The best option is to take the a/c public bus from Ekamai. Going to Bangkok in the morning it took an hour and 40 minutes. Coming back, it was 2 hours 10 mins. They will stop on their route to let people off. I see nothing wrong in it and it does not take much time. They are going pretty slow in traffic at that point anyway. 113 baht.

As to catching a baht bus on North Pattaya Road, I would not count on it. I tried, because I wanted to turn onto 3rd Road. I found nothing going anywhere (about 7 p.m.). Just take the songtheows parked at the bus station. There is a big sign advertising Beach Road for 20 baht.

Do you think so....

You will have to drag a suitcase across a busy road and stand in the sun trying to flag one down.....

Well, yeah, if you have a huge suitcase, this would not be recommended, but if you travel light as I do, this is no problem. Anyway, we are only talking about a hundred meters or so. Big deal. Of course, 10 baht is no big deal anyway. But one time I was a little late getting to the parked baht buses and a full one had just left. Got on the other one that was sitting there that was almost empty. After waiting for some time, I asked the driver when we would be leaving, and he implied that we might have to wait for the next bus from Bangkok to get a full load. So I walked out to Pattaya North Road and almost immediately caught a baht bus for the 10 baht ride into town.

skytrain to ekemai (spelling)..you will be able to get a cheap non-stop service from there.

Yep, has a toilet on it as well! Don't think the Morchit version has, and also stops a few times before leaving Bkk city limits.

I have caught the airport to jomtien bus at 8pm but my mate sez it is going up to 10pm now. The Bell bus service includes delivery to your hotel in a mini van. The baht buses at the North Pattaya bus station will cost 20b .

The 20 baht, covers the trip down Beach road, not to your hotel, and they ask more to go to jomtien. As much as 200baht more. From the airport, it's tough to beat Bell Bus service. Air port to hotel service.

Wot e sed :thumbup Besides, I usually get a Motosai from the bus station to my hotel. Driver, suitcase and then me on the back. Usually 60 Baht. The Bell service is great but the mini bus drop off from station to hotel can take ages, especially if you're last to be dropped off. Just not worth the hassle imho.

If you travel light, jump onto a motorcycle taxi.

100m in the hot seaon can be hard work.

I am going to Bangkok tomorrow on an unexpected trip.3 days

I want to pop down to Pattaya during the days but do not want to 1000 baht one way and 800 baht back.

So I wanted to use a bus. Idon't want to use a bus that stops a 1000 times.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Reasonably priced and quick. Not onre with chickens and pigs.

I was thinking of taking the train to the airport and then using Bell travel.

By the way I did use the search function but it came up in pink that something was wrong.

On weekdays you could take the train from Bangkok to Pattaya.

See timetable below. I think the fare is less than 50 baht.
