I wonder if they have free Wi-Fi? I know Sabai Lodge didn't a few years ago. For me, that's a deal breaker.

I have stayed in the Sabai lodge which is the one in Soi 1. It has just the 1 pool with the lodge on three sides and the wi fi there was free when i was there a few months ago.

you stayed in the sabai wing of sabai lodge the sabi wing pool is one of four pools in Sabai Lodge.

Most mornings I had breakfast around and a swim in the sabai wing pool and most evenings i had a swim and a couple of beers/cocktails in the main pool.

You have full access to all four pools no matter what part of the hotel you stay, same same access to the restaurant.

AS for free wifi one of my mates used it and was quite happy with it.

Well, it sounds like at least some of the property has free Wi-Fi. I won't stay anywhere that doesn't.

Used to be even cheaper a couple of years ago. The low season rates are good, the rooms, which I believe have been renovated, are spacious with electronic safe.

Standard rooms are on car park side and noisy til 3 a.m.Use of Sabai Lodge pools, and used to get voucher for free daily coffee and cake!

Not sure what the Beach Road side is like now as Soi 2 Inn is next door.

I do prefer room with balcony now so usually stay Summer Spring on Soi 1 or BJ Lodge on Soi 3. But as a budget option Sabai Inn is a good choice.

I think that most things were cheaper a while ago. I paid I think 845 baht for the superior room last June and there was still free tea/coffee and cake every afternoon.

A point that someone raised was about baht buses going down the soi. I think that if a BB gets to soi 2 and its empty it goes down rather than getting mixed up with the roundabout with little chance of more fares for the time and mileage. I never managed to walk to Beach Road last time without a bus catching up with me.

Buss are not supposed to go down soi Diane, but they do.'

  • 2 weeks later...

Sabai Lodge rooms are very tired looking, could even say shabby. Won't be staying there again until they are revamped.

Have never stayed at the Sabai Inn but always read good reports.

Sabai Wing is nice enough but more pricey.

Having said that I note that Agoda has these rooms for approx 1200 baht and that included the 200 baht breakfast.

Have you settled on that area for your next trip?

Hi there. I stayed at the Sabai Inn for 3 weeks last June and really liked the place. I like the area and had good fun at the Soi 2 bars. I also liked the Big C across the road for my supplies of odds and ends. If I have one complaint about the Sabai Inn it is that the rooms whilst spacious are dark and none of them have balconieds and from what I can see it seems that the rooms at the main Saba blocks are a bit brighter. Then again its all a trade off because at the Inn you will never hear a sound in the place and its very peaceful and there has been comments about some of the main bocks being noisy.

Bottom line is that I am sitting on the fence till early next month to see if anything good pops up but I have to say that at this stage one of the Soi 2 options looks good to me. Last year I got a really good deal on a quality place from Expedia and I live in hopes!
