Bank/ Exchange House Near RG? (And Walking Route to Walking Street)

Recommended Posts

What bank is close to Residence Garden for an ATM, and what decent exchange house? Or are banks OK for this as well? (Thinking not a lot of English)

I'd rather not shlep all the way to the other end of town for an ATM or to change traveller's cheques.

Also someone mentioned a short cut to walk from RG to FLB - anyone able to describe that? Otherwise to walk , it seems to be maybe a couple kilometers via 2nd road and then 16/15, does that seem right?

Under two weeks now....

Then in no time at all, you will be on the way home.

There is a Family Mart across the road with an ATM

To get to WS

From RG walk out the front door and turn right.

Continue straight and walk under the overpass (~200m) and straight, down to a T intersection (~100m).

Turn right and proceed down the left side of the road to Soi Marine area (~150m)

From here you have 3 options:

- The road on your left is Soi 17, walk down this all the way will take you to the Pier end of Walking St.

- Walk down Soi 17 about 100m and turn right into the Arab area (you'll know it from the wailing sounds) and you can then walk through the bars onto WS just near the iBar.

- Continue about 20m and go around the (far) side of the Marine hotel (?) and you will come down to an alley where you will find Marine Seafood, the JP bar, Blues Factory and Goodfells and thru to WS.

If you go this way there is a small alley on the right opposite Marine seafood and next to a convenience store which will take you straight through to Soi BJ and TQ2

Hope this helps.

Not sure 100% about T Cheque exchange booths but I seem to remember that you would pass a few using this route

Cheers :rolleyes:: Admiral Ken

The nearest bank used to be TMB on Phratumnak Rd, opposite Soi VC, and a Bangkok Bank around there. (TMB is Kasikoen now I think), but new banks are popping up all over the place. ATMs are also found outside convenience stores.

English pretty widely spoken, particularly Bank staff.

Banks will exchange money, in fact the exchange kiosks are often at the front of a bank branch.

You can cut through Soi 16 to get to FLB, or go via the next one (forget name), or even Soi Diamond, no need to go as far as Soi 15.

I doubt it is 2 km, maybe a little over one.

Use this....
