Yeah, very classy. Yeah, sure. My error. Vancouver fans are very, very classy. How could I ever think otherwise. Anywhere else, they would have booed a LOT more and had MUCH bigger riots, probably wit

And the beat goes on.....

Best shot of the game was Clowe's uppercut to Kesler's chin. Who went down and turtled up like a child btw. He had his frickin' glove on fer pete's sake.

Typical Sharks: snatching defeat from the . . . wait for it . . . JAWS . . . of victory. :D Sorry, I couldn't resist.

On the brink of sending the series back to SJ, Kesler hits the game-tying goal with a minute in regulation. Then they lose in double OT, because losing in single OT would not provide enough suffering for Sharks fans. :allright

Cue Roy Scheider and the exploding oxygen tank . . . Boom!

At least the game winner was a spectacular......fluke goal and we can continue to hold our heads high knowing we didn't give up an(other) easy one. :D :chogdee

tough loss in game 5 that's for sure...it's tough being a SJ supporter but they ain't The Cubbies yet

I have been a Cubs fan since the late 70's. No matter how much they suck I remain loyal.

The Sharks became my #2 hockey team in the mid 90's, but I dumped them a couple of years ago after they established themselves as play-off chokers. I don't need the aggravation. :banghead

The Cubs rarely make the post season and the Sharks may lose but the are a playoff team consistently.

I live in San Jose so I am a fan. They did not choke this year, they got beat by a superior team. Go Canucks against the East (hopefully Boston).

Bieksa is going to the finals. Clowe is going home. Who's the winner?

No doubt and same as all the other years. There are only two teams that will go farther than they did, this and last year, and one of those will hoist the Cup.

Regardless of how anyone wants to portray it, that's not bad, that's not bad at all. :thumbup

Lol. Luongo and the Twins are going too. Please tell me their significance to Kesler turtling up after Clowe gave him a tap on the chin........

Wow, the Bruins got a hat trick from Krejci and still lost. Great players come thru in big games, and that was Martin St Louis. :bow

I think Canucks and Bruins would be fantastic!

. . . and that's what it is. :clap2 After a great first three rounds we've got a #1 seed vs a #3.

East Coast vs West Coast, Canada vs US, the Hockey Stick vs the Bear.

I picked the Canucks at the beginng in of the play-offs so I will stick with them, though I admit it would be nice to see Boston get a Stanley Cup after not winning it since '72 (when a guy named Orr was wearing Boston black & gold). It would also be nice to see the Canucks win their fist Cup ever.

Hoping for an exciting series. :beer

Great game last night, 60 great minutes with no penalties. I was happy to see a good goal decide it and not a garbage goal or a disputed call. Roloson was great, he should have been first star. After the game Tim Thomas said of Martin St. Louis, his old college teammate, "He gives everything."

I'm taking Canucks for all the marbles. Bring that Cup back to Canada where it belongs!

OK guys, we're down to the short strokes now. Who are you calling and in how many games?

I'm going with the 'nucks in a tough 7-gamer.

Well, heck, if you're climbing out on a limb go all the way out.

Brew-Ins. In five, very possibly a sweep.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thought I'd better revive this thread, since no one has posted for the past 2 weeks.

My excuse for not posting: I took a trip to Laos and got caught up in the NBA finals. I'm a Heat fan, so that didn't go well. :crying:

As I turn back to the NHL, what's this I see? We're going to game 7? :yikes:

Boston fought off elimination in game 6 and Thomas looked strong as they put another beatin' on Luongo and chased him out of "da Gaaadin".

Can they keep the momentum going and hoist their first Cup since '72, or will home ice advantage continue, allowing the Canucks to win their first ever Stanley Cup?

Wake up puckheads.

I can't believe that the whiners, divers and all-around Schamucks have scored three goals and won three games. Good grief, that's a champion?

I thought Boston would sweep or nearly sweep. And here they sit, up 17 goals to 6, and having to face the world's luckiest goalie to win Game 7. It's a crapshoot now. On paper, Boston wins Game 7 in a romp. Luckily for Thelma and Louise, the game is going to be on ice, and they could even win.

They are freaking out here in BC. So far its been a homer series but that's the past and it's down to one game. Who wants it more? I'd say da Broons. I want to see a fast, hard-hitting game with no garbage goals or bad calls.

So the Cup goes to the Bruins, and they are very deserving of it IMHO. :clap2 They fought back through some really tough series and finally won it all in game 7 on the road. Thomas rightfully claimed the Con Smythe trophy. Good night to be partying in Boston. :beer

Then there are the Canucks . . . :clueless

What an inconsistent team they were during these play-offs. Never really taking control in any of their series, yet always doing just enough to advance . . . until game 7 vs Boston, of course. The Sedins woefully under performed. Luongo should be renamed Jeckle & Hyde. Then the offense gets shut out at home in game 7. :banghead No wonder their fans were burning cars outside Rogers Arena after the game.

Looking back at the poll for this thread, not one person voted for Boston. :allright Fine bunch of prognosticators we are.

Congrats again to the Bruins. :bow

Not to mention they booed the presentation of both trophies. Real class, Vancouver. About the only thing the whining, diving, excuse-laden Canucks didn't do is bite like little girls during fights.

Oh, wait a minute....

Luongo is a choker, everyone knew that going in. But in Game 7, you can't blame him - you can't win if you don't score ANY goals, eh? Good going, Boston, good going Howard. You deserved it.
