Arrived yesterday afternoon, flying business class with EVA Air.

I had not realised this included Fast Track vouchers for Heathrow + Bangkok Airports as well as access to the Lounges.

Amazed at how quick it was to get through Bangkok via the special Immigration area. Off the plane, and collecting my bags all within 10 minutes. It has taken up to an hour before.

I would recommend paying any surcharge for this option, even if not travelling Business class

I have been told that Eva's Biz Class has deteriorated of late. I just did Qatar and although you have to transit at Doha, the on-board service is very good. Meals are of a high stndard too.

For 1600 baht you can be met at the aircraft and escorted through Fast Track. Here..But many who have flown economy really want to save money.

Yup $50 is a deal breaker for many here for sure. There is one service for THB1,250. The 1,600 doesn't include the cart though, that's closer to 2,500. Cathay gives me these CIP passes in both directions, departure via the VIP and diplomat channel in about five minutes.

There are also people who fly economy because they cannot afford a business class ticket, but don't want to wait 1,5 hrs or more to get thru immigration. For those people Fasttrack is a good solution.

As fas as I know there are 2 companies offering these services (prices start from 1200 baht). The service itself is pretty good as it serves it purpose in getting you thru immigration very fast.

When there is queue at Immigration, Fasttrack is worth it's money!

Hi

I don't know how it works but I have been fast tracked via Qatar airlines recently.

I have silver card status with them but was surprised to be fast tracked both at BKK & Doha and was very impressed at the efficiency of their operation.

Only drawback is your expectation of a long immigration/customs delay & it doesn't happen so you're left with nothing to do but drink !!!

cheers rogero :beer :beer :beer

I have been in and out of BKK recently and have found immigration queues both arriving and leaving to be much improved.

Not sure there would be any value in purchasing fast track although if given free by the airline then why not use it.

When queues at immigration are acceptable, then there's no point in purchasing. Problem is ofcourse that you don't know how busy it will be on arrival. As an economy class ticketholder you don't get "fasttracked" unless you buy it upfront.

Last time (March) I arrived around noon and I knew that there are several longhaul flights coming in at that time (so busy at immigration). Next time (september) I'll arrive around 6 AM, so I hope immigration will be easy....

Being a tight git and thinking that my time is not worth the $50 I will not use fast track .Having said that I have never taken longer than 40 minutes fro landing to getting in to a cab ,except the time I used the Bus and I was still gone from the airport in less than an hour and a half from landing having waited almost an hour for the bus.

Well, tell them to fly to Thailand then!!

Seriously, 1.5 hours doesn't happen. 45 minutes is unusual these days.

Good example, you waited around an hour for the bus to save 1000 baht. Fast Track looks like an expensive option particularly, as Joe says, the long boring lines rarely take you an hour to pass through.

I take it as a freeby when I fly in long haul Biz Class. When I fly in from nearby, I sometimes have the TGF with me and brazenly try the shorter Thai lines. If I left the Air Asia plane alone, I stand in line and look for Thaksin flaws in the airport construction.

Meet the Fasttrack person, get the CIP card and as you pass regular immigration go there and keep the card. You can use it to leave instead (same card) or later.

I arrived on Cathay in J and it wasn't all that busy (leaving it wasn't either) but I used the cards in both directions anyway since every trip they are going to give them out again. If the day came that I was going to fly coach (unlikely) say just between HKG and BKK I could hang onto the cards for later.

Yeah, nice. I used Fasttrack only once (when 1,5 to 2 hrs queues were reported here and by Stickman) and the Fasttrack guy sticked to me like glue.

But I like the idea  Thanks!

Last trip, I had the late flight that landed at 11pm. Since I didn't want to miss the bar closings on WS due to a long immigration line, I reserved the Fast Track Service for 1200B. I was in the LimoPattaya taxi around 11:30p (I carried on my bag) and at my hotel at 1am. I thought it was well worth it. However, as mentioned above, had I not been arriving so close to closing time, I might just as well rough it in line.
