The post that was quoted can be found here:

 

Then it had the link. Then it quoted a lot of the actual post.

 

Tell me this is some sort of glitch and not something we can look forward to in the default setup??? Please?

I have a few of these showing up in my junk e-mail box (the e-mail service uses SPAM filters, mostly quite effective).

 

I find it handy to see quotes without the need to go into the site as I use an iPad and 3G at the office which is no speed demon.

Yes, I believe you find it handy and others, too. But I don't. I'd never seen it before, and don't want it, and wondered what the hey. Do we turn it on/off? Why did I suddenly start getting them (two, now). etc.

 

It's not an overall objection, just a personal one. Anyone wanting it, that's jake. Anyone NOT wanting it, that would be nice, also.

Yeah I have been getting these and have been into my settings 3 times now unchecking and checking various boxes.

Don't need them as my routine is to look at new posts and would come across them anyhow.

Likely only Pappy being infantile anyhow!

Obviously today's messing about in my settings didn't change anything as I just got a

joekicker quoted a post you made.....

The notification choices are under MY SETTINGS/NOTIFICATION OPTIONS. I mistakenly set the default for quoted posts as not changeable by the user. My bad.

 

You can now turn off email for that and any other notification event.

 

Let me know if it still occurs.
