Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I seem now to be unable to view images (or maybe it's just videos)in some posts - e.g. http://www.pattayata...ost__p__912905s

There's no problem when using Firefox, only IE. How do I get around this, please?

As much as I loathe IE anymore, I brought it up (IE 8), read this post, followed the link to the post with the video, and it displays correctly.

It's not an IE issue alone, at least with the version I am using.

I gotta pass on this one.

What version of IE? Upgrade to 9 for sure.

There's no specific bug, so try this.

Go to Tools, Internet Options. First, go to Active X - Run controls and plug-ins - Enable

Display Mixed Content - prompt

Script Active X marked safe - Enable

Active Scripting - enable

Click OK

Go to Advanced, Multimedia

Click (tick, i.e. allow) everything

Click OK, Apply

Upper right hand of the browser. Click the gear. Scroll to Safety. Turn off ALL tick marks.

Note: These are NOT unsafe or experimental. They are standard browser usage recommendations. Sometimes browser security gets set to Paranoid by mistake.

Thanks, JK.

I am using IE9.

I go to "Tools", "Internet Options" but where do I find "Active X", please? I've looked under all the tabs but can't locate it.

I am using a notebook, in case that is relevant.

It's not relevant to the browser, but Lord alone knows why you're not seeing pics. It's probably NOT Active X, but ActiveX is a constant effup.

Anyhow. Tools, Internet Options, Security, then the Custom Level Button. Take a scroll through the whole thing while you're there.

Thanks again.

Notebooks seem to use "Windows 7 Starter" rather than Windows 7. I wondered if that was relevant.

I've done as much of as suggested as possible but have failed to find "Display Mixed Content" and "Active Scripting".

Fortunately, it's not really a great problem as I can simply use Firefox instead.

I managed to get IE 9 so it won't display the video...it shows a box that would bound the video, but has no content other than a small X icon.

I did this by going to the tools icon, click Safety. There is an item ACTIVE X FILTERING. Make sure it is unchecked. I made it checked and then the video did not play.

Thanks MM.

"Safety" is a separate icon from "Tools" on my computer, and Active X Filtering is unchecked so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

IE is shit and nobody should use it unless there is a site which depends on ActiveX controls. And those are few and far between like corporate virtual VPN, some sharing sites like Web Alliance. If those aren't where you're headed then avoid it like the plague and resource sucking hog it is.

Use Firefox.

Use Firefox.

+1

or Opera.

:D

I've found Opera works better with photos and videos, but Firefox is finally catching up and I'm using it more and more vs Opera.

I never have fewer than three browsers going (4, as I write) and as it happens, IE is almost always the one with this forum. IE9 is definitely not shit. But like anything, there are horses for courses. For a couple of years or more, I've never had a bit of trouble with this forum and IE. I *have* had trouble with all my browsers at different times, for different reasons. I'm no ActiveX fan, either, but blame the websites for that, not IE.

Since we are all about opinions anyhow, and only opinions, my favourite browser for, oh, a year or more is definitely Google Chrome - faster, WAY more robust than anything else. Of the six browsers I use from time to time, by far the slowest and kludgiest is Firefox, but it trucks on most of the time, and has some neat add-ons that I almost can't live without.

FF6 is much faster than the previous version. It's pretty close to Chrome in terms of speed.

Like you, Chrome is still my preferred browser, but it's nice to see FF improving again.
