What movies are playing /Exchange rate

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what movies are playing in Thailand now? I'm going to be there for three weeks starting next week and I'm hoping there's something worth seeing.

Also, what is the current exchange rate on the street for the US $? I'm seeing 43.40 on the internet, but what are the booths paying?

 Thanks

Crelus,

Today the exchange rate was  43.11 for $1, and that was for a $100 bill. Less for smaller bills.

As far as the movies, you should be able to get a copy of the Bangkok Post on the plane durning the last leg of your flight. If not you will just need to wait until you get to the LOS and pick up the local paper.

Thanks everyone for the info. Here's a link I found to the movies in case anyone else wants to check this out.  I just know I'm not going to make it sitting in front of a bar every night so it's nice to know there's something else to do.

Can someone tell me what the current drink prices are on average?  I'm working out my budget and I'm trying to figure out how much I'm going to have to add in per night for drinks.

 Thanks again!

Crelus,

The movies change every week.  Big C has 6 or 7 screens and Royal Plaza only 2.  Just returned yesterday and the prices charged for the movies vary from 70 to 90 baht.  The new Bond movie was being promoted and should be available while you are there.  A/C in the theater is very cold, so wear some warm clothing and if you take a Thai girl make sure she has proper clothing or she will be extremely cold.  Drink prices vary depending where you drink and at what time.  Open air beer bars have Singa Gold for 35 Baht during their happy hours and some of the go-gos have draft beer for 35 baht during their happy hours.  Some of the happy hours go from noon to 10 PM.  If your not drinking beer, then it's going to be more.  This probably isn't enough detail to make a budget but like I said earlier the prices vary greatly depending on what, where and when you drink.

  • 3 weeks later...

Dad and I took our TGs to Big C. At first they wanted to see Harry Potter.(Thank God they changed their minds ;D) But then they saw "The Legend of Kra-Sue playing." Actually for a Thai horror-vampire movie it was pretty good. Better than some of the American crap I've seen in the past, that has put me asleep(literally). But honestly I stayed awake in this movie. The movie was in Thai with English subtitles. Wanna check what's playing at Big C and Royal Garden? Click the link below.
