Yes Carrots are for life not just Xmas.. VT2 is fine, but it has an unusable balcony and dark and dingy alley ways, but for £30k its a steal thats not proper money for real estate is it ..

 

Gabor does not like the rule no carrots in the complex ..

 

VT 5,6 ,8 are bigger and better hence the cost, I think he is down the route he has bought there so it must be great many people cant take an objective view, its called self justification a sign of a weak mind...

VT2 is a good deal for £30k as is VT6 for £80k location location location....

However I don't want to crate an other off topic, winding up thread, I'm really interested about the opinion of the others don't wanted to participate in our flamewar... so a poll is due... A very kind beg.... please don't vote on me on Parkwahn... Vote on the options...

 

I will try to summarize the facts, assumes, estimates... you are welcome to add your opinion, the poll will be very strict and hopefully dry...

 

VT5:

 

Pros: A newer ( 3-5 years ) building with bigger ( 48 vs 42 sqm ) rooms, noticeable bigger balconies... Closer to the beach, you can call building C ( ? ) a beachfront condo... Because of the lack of the occupancy almost empty pool area, less disturbing neighbors.

 

Cons: Maybe because of the lack of the occupancy, less money for the services like the card entry system, the security and some other services like the first floor businesses. The noticeable smaller swimming pools. Long walk to and from the beachfront building to the street.

 

VT2:

 

Pros: Excellent security ( yes farangs can walk in at th daytime ... but my mate, who rented a condo was stopped when he tried to leave the building with his baggages including a PC and two huge monitors... I had to prove them and include my copy pf passport ) Huge swimming pool, probably the best in the area. Many services on the first floor ( massages, laundries, beauty salons, 3 restaurants etc )

 

Cons: 5-10 minute walk to the beach vs the beachfront location. Smaller rooms ( 42 sqm vs 48 sqm ) with noticeable smaller balconies ( but still ok to sit for 2 people around a table... true, not comfortable ) Because of the popularity, you may experience disturbing neighbors, usually tourists and the swimming pool area sometimes may be crowded, but no strangers because of the electronic entry card system.

 

I don't want to include the elevator and the corridor size nonsense here.

 

Pricing:

 

VT5: The average buying price is 50.000 baht / sqm ie. a studio costs average 2.4 mill baht

The average renting fee is 20-25.000 baht / month

 

VT2: The average buying price is 36-40.000 baht / sqm ie. a studio costs average 1.5 mill up to 1.68 mill

The average renting fee is ( for the 42 sqm condos... smaller condos are also available for less ) 14-18-000 baht / month

How funny is that Gabor puts cons in the pros on 5 ..

 

VT5 is more expensive due to location and the far superior balconies, as for no services there are restaurants, mini marts, massage and laundry's as there are in VT 6

 

VT2 has smaller corridors which are claustrophobic, also as its cheaper as clearly people wont pay the same as in 5 or 6, you see when people rent 5 or 6 they can rent 2 if they desire, they clearly dont :bhappy Size of swimming pool.. hmm I have never seen a VT pool utilised 5% of what it could take so is there an issue there ?

 

Card entry in 2 lol.. I have been in there 3 or more times never been asked, and in a power cut I had to walk down the stairs, in VT6 and 5 been thee in power cuts and lift's were working off generator..

 

 

If you are happy with VT2 then fine, its clear the tenants and owners of 5 and 6 were not ...

 

VT5 does not have 42 metre rooms the smallest is 48 .. FACT

 

Is the walk from the second VT not not a long walk ? I notice the one in VT5 is .. :llaugh :llaugh :llaugh

 

VT 2 is ok if you are happy with a cheap ageing condo with no balcony.. ok for £30k as always of you want an upgrade it costs ..

 

Is a £50k car better than a £30k one .. :) ............

A friend of mine bought one there and got scammed. He was told his unit could be in his name and he ended up with a bogus company owned unit.

I looked at it, but the narrow corridors and useless balcony put me off, add in the angled room due to poor balcony design .. but for £30k its ok of you want it, I never liked them due to the above,,,,It is what it is an ageing poorly designed block but what can you buy for £30K ??

Yeah,... VT2 is sold out, while the VT5 is empty / unsold 50% + ... no one corner condos are sold I can see from my balcony... it's not about the real market, it's about the wild dreams of the farang sellers.... maybe you are one of them...

Yes, you can walk in the VT2 in daytime... not at the night time... In the VT5 one security sleeping peacefully on a chair next to the elevator...

 

No, in the VT2 are not available the magical elevators moving only one directions...the generator serves both the down and the up travels...

 

The following facts I admitted in the OP...

 

Years ago when I was condo shopping, I looked at VT 2 and at that time they were having major problems with the maintenance team. (Theft of money). For my tastes, that would have been the last place I would have chosen. If I remember correctly, they still had some shells available starting at 450,000 baht. A friend of mine bought one there and got scammed. He was told his unit could be in his name and he ended up with a bogus company owned unit.

 

True, there was problems with the thai management, and one employee stole a lot of money... but already a few years ago the farang committee manage the building.... ( we don't had to pay the theft )

 

Please let me know if any shells are available for 450.000, I want to buy it....seriously....if you can't... your statement is only. :sosad

 

I'm sorry to say, but your friend was a dark dumb....I bought my very first condo through the internet, not being in the city....If he is a cretin or a cheapo not to hire a lawyer ( 10-15.000 baht ) he was worthy being scammed...

This are horrible buildings and destroy the "beautiful" skyline ... VT 7 at Dogtan Beach - Jomtien is the best one of them.

What about to discuss the facts about the buildings instead of the personal, east europeans are tuskers thread...What next ? To tell the VT buildings were built for the east europeans ?
