THAI AIRWAYS LHR-BKK

Recommended Posts

The TGF told me Thai Airways staff were threatening strikes, they wanted some bonus and share of better profits.

Don't worry from 1st april all Thai B747 aircraft ex LHR-BKK will be refurbished incl IFE

I'm not likely to fly long-haul in economy with any carrier - and Thai's business class holds no attractions for me (just as easy for me to travel with MH or SQ).

And the boxes containing the IFE equipment will be under some of the seats, particularly the aisle seats so if you take the night flight you'll be able to watch soppy American romantic comedies but unable to stretch out for a kip..

Yes and no.....

TG916 yesterday was a refurbed 747....and was good to have so much space! I like the wide bodies....

There are IFE boxes fixed under some seats, but fortunately they are positioned vertically and to one side, which means that you can still spread out and get your feet well under the seat infront. I had a great sleep, just like the good old days.

The width available is slightly restricted, but not by much. It might inhibit guys like Larry Craig from taking a "wide stance" though.

I always liked the 747-400s, particularly the upstairs Biz Class......(after they stopped permitting kids and big soft kids to trundle through to see the cockpit all night long). Tempted to give the A380 a spin next trip back though.

I flew with Thai in Jan and Feb this year (economy only!). For abut the last 6 or more times I flew with Eva (mostly because of the lack of I.C.E plus Eva were always cheaper!). This time however Thai worked out cheaper, plus had a free internal flight in with the price. I was impressed with Thai, they were a lot better than when I last flew with them, better than Eva Id say.

I hope they have the jumbos on the LHR=BKK route next Jnauary time!

Ps It wasn't a 747 I flew on in January,
