Is KFC the rankest fast food?

Recommended Posts

Just had the misfortune of getting on the elevator with the KFC delivery guy. No objection to a man doing his job, but I was glad when he got off. I don't have any principled objection to greasy fried chicken, but not when it smells/tastes like that. Of all the things we had to export to Thailand. Any other nominations?

Why is a women like a bucket of KFC ? Because once your past the Tender breasts and the juicy thighs All you have left is a greasy wet box to put your bone in.

Is that a chip on your shoulder… or maybe a french fry ?

I've heard that KFC is particularly rank in the LoS tho I haven't tied it. It surprises me because it's just chicken after all. I cant get over how many people praise the Sizzler. The salad bar is ok tho tiny but the rest of their offerings are just horrendous. I guess I can see why someone would eat it but to give it a recommendation??? Mind boggling.

I recommend Sizzler because I reckon it's consistently good value for money - certainly the branches in Thailand operated by Minor Food. Was at the branch in Hat Yai during the week and the salad/starter bar was huge (tom yum gai was pretty good, the salad items were fresh and plentiful), the place was spotless and the staff were great. I had the salmon and baked-potato main-course and it was tasty and filling - to be fair though, I never eat the toast stuff they give you. The place always seems to be packed, so they must be doing something right.

McDonald's is pretty busy too.Tasteless cheap crap. It's just a race to the bottom.

Farmed Atlantic salmon and a baked potato at Sizzler??? Fancy food for trailer trash. Yuck.

Nominations for yucky food? All the US fast food franchises, to be sure. I tried McDonald's once at the Royal Garden Plaza, just to see if it was as bad as in the USA. It was.

I also tried Pizza Hut down by Big C. Sort of a disappointment.

I don't mind the occasional Subway sandwich. And a Dairy Queen ice cream cone can be OK.

I haven't eaten in McDonald's in years, same with Burger King. Don't consider either to be affirmatively nasty in the sense of that KFC smell. Have found myself in the Carl's Junior in Central Festival a couple of times so I'm not claiming to be a food nazi snob.

Welcome America bashers. It's too bad you can't find anything else to bitch about. My advice is if you don't like it DON'T eat there. Simple solution.

We all have our own preferred tastes. So this is not an argument you can really get your 'teeth stuck into'.

I don't recall ever being in a Sizzler, so I certainly couldn't say you were wrong.....

if you've been into Sizzler and you've ordered the salmon and you disliked it then fair enough

.........But if you haven't then, 'fancy food for trailer trash' just sounds snobbish.

I spent a few months in Surin and Falang food options were fairly limited. I love Thai food but it just doesn't seem to fill me up so I crave Falang food. If it wasn't for the KFC I don't think I would have lasted as long as I did there. I also had a really bad craving for McDonalds simply because there wasn't one there, nearest being a couple hours away in Korat.

As soon as I got back to Pattaya I headed to McD's for a pig out. Man was it an anticlimax!

Strongly agree with Tom. I eat quite often at Sizzlers in both Pattaya and Bangkok. Very large and extremely fresh salad bars. Entrees are ok, the salad bar is excellent.

Jollibee is pretty fucking shit as well. Take a Macdo, cheapen the ingredients by 80% and you have Jollibee. I'd rather brush my teeth with Pla ra.

In fact, any take away food in the Philippines is rank. Actually, scrub that, Any food in the Philippines full stop.

A country that was never noted for its culinary or gastronomic excellence, I can honestly tell you that during my return to the PI I inevitably come home at least 8kg lighter in body weight (and it's not like I'm a porker in the first place either) due to the simple fact that the food is so bloody disgusting I'm hard pushed to find any of it in the least bit appetizing.

I tend to go home cooked vegetarian with plenty of fruit when I'm there, chuck in a load of chillies and hope for the best.

Good value for a couple of hundred Baht though. Any recommendations from you?

I ate at the Sizzler in Central and after the salad bar my meal was virtually inedible The salad bar is small compared to what I'm used to but it was ok..

BTW, farmed salmon isn't as healthy an option as people think. Some suggest to have it no more often than twice a year due to PCB contamination.

Rather do MK restaurants or try a Thai KFC for the first time than eat at Sizzler.

Tom, if your lucky enough to find wild fresh pacific salmon please try it. Not only is it healthier its much tastier and has a better firmer texture. It's like comparing steak to hamburger. I grew up eating lots of salmon and had many neighbours that were fishers so we were well stocked for the better part of the year. I've tried farmed salmon and I wont eat it mainly just on taste and texture. Farmed Atlantic salmon from Sizzler just the thought of it gives me the creeps.

KFC here in a First World country is good. Can't speak for it in Patts. Why would you eat at KFC in Patts anyway?

McDoanlds in Avenue Mall on 2nd Road is superior to ANY McDonalds here in the USA.Every item I tried is.And funny that the prices for items differs between that location and the one in Central on Beach Rd.I guess you pay for the view..........

McDonalds is the bottom, no question about it.

Didn't a Carls Jr replace a KFC in the Hilton mall?
