Any comments on this newish set up. In particular compared to Door2Door. (I assume the food will still turn up on the "cool" side; which is sort of inevitable, and can even be a problem in some restaurants).

I used D2D a few times last year, then saw a cable tv commercial for Waiter On Wheels,so started using them as the menu prices were not inflated and incredibly they added no delivery charge.

If there's a new player, what's the usp,as WoW have got the price advantage?

Much larger choice (45 for Beach Road area as an example) They have some middle eastern joints onboard which intrests the "missus". A la Turk closed and wasn't replaced on the others.Haven't checked out price differences; but I am a bit of a LDOP when it comes to food joints !

Well ! I'm not that much of a LDOP ! :yikes: The "missus" and sister decided they want "Pallot Fish and Flench flies from Jolly Flyah" (very specific is the "missus" ). I thought I'd give the Panda lot a go; Ran the order through and was a bit surprised to see a total of just under 1000 Baht for the 3 meals & bits and pieces. So I ordered the delivery direct through the shop and total, including delivery was 600 Baht. A massive 400 Baht mark up :livid !Anyway "Pallot Fish" was excellent; and " Baby's Head" that I ordered was OK, but what caused me to order that in Thailand, I'll never know ! :grin Definitely won't be using Panda.com though :shame:

What is a Baby's Head ?

A slang name for a steak-pudding, the ones with the suet pastry.

Thanks.

I was brought up on them.....Hollands pies. The Meat and Potato was my favourite, then the peppery small cylinderical Meat pie and once or twice a calorie monster called a Butter Pie. Every chippy in Lancashire used to sell them. The Steak and Kidney Pudding had a soggy consistency, and would collapse in your hand as you took a bite. Never heard it called a Baby's Head though, must have been regional slang.

Plastic forks (or the really old little wooden ones) a necessity for steak-pud, chips, peas and gravy. I must admit to be soon at the chippy after one (or two) puds after landing at Manchester myself.

I think Wigan (or Wigin) is the origin of baby's head.
