This may be of interest to some guys who want to do Cambodia on a limited budget. Sounds a lot better than all the transferring and pissing around that was previously the norm.

Only 7 hours to Siem Reap. That's pretty quick, thought it would take longer than that.

I think they will need more than one depature/day in the future.

I wonder if you can book tickets online?

I was in Siem Reap years ago (10?) and got a bus to Bangkok then for much less. It was a minibus in Cambodia which dropped you at the border crossing. You walked over and then got on a large air aon bus to Bangkok. This soul des much better since the minibus was a kidney buster.

If it truly is 7 hours door to door and leaves on time by the time you go to the airport, allow time to check in and so on plus the flight itself you have to use up 3 hours of that, I suppose if you have a good read and it's a big seat it would be a low cost and not that much worse alternative. And you save considerably I would think - a ticket must be $100 or more one way.

I just plugged in some random days for flights to Siem Reap from Swampy on BKK Airways and it come up at 11085 baht all in. Yikes. I'm surprised it came up Swampy.

If I was flying to Cambodia from Bangkok I would allow 2 hours at the airport before departure and 1 hour in the air, so three hours total.Seven hours on the bus from Mor Chit.Definitely worth considering the bus if you're not in a hurry.

I don't see many specials on Air Asia between DMK & PNH.IIRC,it is a 75 minute flight and immigration & customs is usually fast on arrival in PP.11 hours on ANY bus is a long tme.900b bus ride for 11 hours is a good deal if you're on a budget I guess. Not for me though.Aside from the backpacker pictured,I don't see many ex-pats using it-seems more likely to attract locals & backpackers.

AirAsia is currently offering DMK-PNH for 1,290 Baht incl and PNH-DMK for 1,500 Baht incl with plenty of availability on both outward and return.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but having recently completed some discount airline travel, I have to ask... Does "incl" mean the quoted price actually, really, for sure, includes all taxes & fees? (..which on these fares is quite often roughly equal to, or even in excess of, the fare itself)

A breakdown of the fare and charges is below. It doesn't include checked baggage or preferred seat selection. They are optional charges.

I was checking until 3 days ago and the cheapest return from PNH was 2500 for 2 solid months. Not that 1k baht over and above youre quote was a deal killer but there were no specials offered for the 2 month period.Availability was never in question.

I normally choose the 20k wt. to be safe and its 450b.It ranges from 15kilos at 370b to 40kilos at 1250b in each direction as posted above.Tom quoted sale fares for particular days.Fare sales are rare. The fare to travel today and return next Friday is 6320b.You need to catch a fare sale to make it reasonable so it's worthwhile to be on their mailing list.Plus joining their frequent flyer program,BIG,helps too.You can accrue points in several ways.
